  • Greatest song of the 90's, and still makes it happen. Jane Child is smokin' hot. Wow.

  • HELL YEAH!!! 80'S FOREVER!!!! EVEN THOUGH THIS SONG CAME OUT IN 1990!!

  • Jane was and is a musical genius. This remains my favorite song in life and watching this clip always makes me smile.

  • Her extraordinary talent is so obvious - she pulled this off while sick. Just amazing. Great piano talent

  • green day sings it better...but thia is more jazz up in the start

  • Even with a cold, Jane Child still sings better than lots of female vocalists in the best of health.

  • i still love this song til this day

  • I wish I was hugging her at the end of that clip.

  • I used to mix this song with MC Hammer's "Turn This Mutha Out"...think about it and you'll see how the melodies go together...

  • Jane, We love you!!

  • What year is this? I remember this song from the 80s........anybody know? GREAT SONG

  • @mjtf1113 its 2004

  • great performance

  • great perfomance

  • this is one of the first songs i heard on mtv. i thought she was so wierd and pretty. she is still beautiful and its cool that one of the great songs of the late 80s early 90s is still appreciated.

  • Thank you for this video!

  • This was fantastic!

  • Where can I get sheet music for this?

  • That band was killing it!!!! I would love to buy a jazz version/ instrumental of this!!!! Jane write a classic song that still sounds great today!

  • She's very petite. Don't listen to the haterz, Jane, you were fantastic. You can whisper this tune, it would still be great with you on the keys.

  • Wow! Never heard this song performed live but this song STILL sounds good after 20 years Awesome Jane!

  • Shes Soo Pretty!

  • i effing love her f the bs !!

  • Brady obviously is NOT a professional singer. He could probably win American Idol though lol.

  • So editando meu comentario abaixo, quero dizer q o ano foi inicio dos anos 90 qdo viajava e me delirava com musicas tipo JANE CHILD e outros...BONS TEMPOS!!.

    Germano - Uberlandia - mg - BRASIL.

  • ESTE AMIGO Q POSTOU ESTE VIDEO ESTA DE PARABENS,NA DECADA DE 70 EU OUVIA ESTA MUSICA PELAS LONGAS ESTRADAS BRASILEIRAS E HOJE ME DA MUITA SAUDADE DAQUELES TEMPOS Q NAO VOLTA MAIS!!.

  • Awesome Piano and groove and Wayne Brady is friggin bad ass!

  • BAD ASS! :)

  • Wayne, leave the singing to Jane please.

  • I like the way the acoustic piano come through on this

  • Yeah, I can definitely hear the congestion in her voice. Makes me wanna blow my nose or grab my Netti pot. But she's selling it nonetheless, too bad Wayne can't step down from the spot light for 4 minutes to let her sing the damn song.

  • I love the arrangement, but they dropped the song like 3 keys down! Jane not singing it like she did on the original cut. She is still a great piano player though

  • Funky! l love it!! Go Jane.

  • Nice performance!

  • She is still amazing -

  • i like it ...never seen her performance in live ....very good version of this smash classic ...even i see the comentaries about she was ill.....

  • Jane, oh Jane...it's been SOOO long, please come back to us. <3

  • Thanx a bunch for the info and believe me I did not know she was fightin' a VERY bad cold until now. By the way are you her doctor? just kiddin'.

  • Just for those who have been criticizing Jane's vocal performance, bear in mind that Jane was suffering from a very bad cold that day, hence why her voice was nowhere near its usual level of power and talent.

Anyone who has had the luck to hear her in person or live would attest to the fact that her voice is a million times better than this.

  • @cyclonicleo People's voice's change over time also. She was really just falling weak on the high notes of the chorus. She wrote and recorded this song back in the late 80's. That's a long time ago. Look at most singers who still perform old songs. Very few of them can sing it like they did when they recorded it 20+ years ago. They usually sing it different to compensate for their vocal chords "maturing."

  • @cyclonicleo Thanks for explaining Jane's vocal performance. When she started singing, I was taken aback by the lack of power in Jane's voice. Considering she had a bad cold, she didn't do too bad.

  • @cyclonicleo Keys were on point tho!!!! I still say she's Lady GaGa's long lost aunt. lol

  • @cyclonicleo She is still good even with a cold.

  • @cyclonicleo She sound good to me!

  • That was her worst performance yet,I mean nothing to do with the studio cut. I love her platform soles shoes though.

  • @hector69ize

Her performance was poor due to Jane being stricken with a bad cold that day (read through some of the earlier comments). Ideally, she shouldn't have even been performing until she was well. However with Wayne's show being in the final two weeks of its run before being cancelled, it was a case of seizing the opportunity.

  • Utter disappointment ..Jane still could have handled it on her own .. we all know shes got the pipes .. credit to her for performing under the weather. Even a piano/unplugged version would have sufficed .. WISH I could have seen her live .. LOVE JANE and the SURGE REMIXES are fucking UNBELIEVABLE... (where can I get the SURGE cd !?!?!)

  • @razrramone

Both should be available via the official Jane Child.com website.

  • she cannot sing it anymore shit!!!! what the hell was that!!!

  • @721ME

Jane had a bad cold that day, hence the poor performance.

  • @721ME i know

  • Wayne Brady needed to just shut the fuck up and let the band play , I mean thanks for having her on the show but dude .... LAME Brady !!

  • @hanky2112 - it's not like Wayne took over the performance, he just respectfully helped her out here & there. It seemed as though Jane may have appreciated it. I think they handled it the right way- nothing inappropriate about it. Wayne was being the gracious professional he has shown himself to be.

It's a relief to know she had a bad cold - now I don't have to chalk this up as an '80s studio singer being exposed!

Nice to see her rocking some of that same unforgettable style...

  • @hanky2112 - I agree!

  • What the hell kind of sound guy does he have? He set up Jane's mic as a backup vocalist and Wayne's as lead. You can barely hear her.

By the way Kidblinks, Wayne Brady is trying to be the next Brian McKnight :)

  • @Archiebuildsgarbage

I think you are correct sir. She sounds like she has no voice. Anyone who has heard the original knows this lady has the pipes to knock out the whole stage.

It is a shame she does not perform live more often.

  • @nccvball

I agree - unfortunately the cold she had on that day ruined her usually excellent voice.

  • Who invited Wayne Brady to join in? Jeeze...

  • SHES ANNIE LENNOX WITH BRAID EXTENSIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @GurlCaa And talent extensions...

  • @GurlCaa Actually, no. I can't let that go. She's nothing like Annie. Annie's great and all, but Jane is just leagues above her in so many ways. Sorry. You're retarded.

  • LOVED this song in 91!! Thanks for posting.. Jane Child looks and sounds great!!

  • after that live perfomance I'd love to hear it on tour w/ a real band behind her. Love Jane Child

  • A microphone, music and Wayne Brady at the same time should be banned from American TV.

  • Nice work Jane - it's been a long time. Band's OK but they're no Summerhill. Hi Leo, how ya doing buddy?

    Neil D.

  • @boomchank

Not bad Neil! Hows life treating ya?

  • She still has it.

  • She's a great singer but she sounded like she was struggling in this

  • @tazmission16 I don't think she was struggling. Compare her effort here to the following post 'Jane Child - Don't Wanna Fall In Love (Video) by RhinoEntertainment'; the original song from 1990. I think what's missing is the digital enhancements of her voice on the original song and the great back up singers. Besides if anyone was struggling it was Wayne. Youch, not his best effort.

  • @carhart001 Did you just read what you wrote. So she would have struggled too on the orginal without the background vocals and digital enhancements. Whether past or present she would still struggled with the song.

  • @virgoice No you misunderstood. What I meant was when you hear these guys sing live they sometimes don't sound as good as they did on the cd because of digital enhancements and great back up singers. Think about Britney Spears or Justin Bieber they had LOTS of help. But Mariah Carey? No help necessary natural singing ability.

  • @carhart001 I did misundersatnd. I agree, but I thought she was a true powerhouse belter..but she still has a good voice.

  • @virgoice No doubt. Great voice. And from the person who posted this video apparently Child was suffering from a terrible cold that day so her voice was off.

  • Looking to see this for years. Thanks. Can't wait for more of her music.

  • She had the most awesome synth solo ever in the single. Love this song!

  • LOVE THIS !!! )) THANK YOU !!!

  • Awesome post. Jane's a wonderful person. I knew her 30 yrs ago when we were in the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus together. She was always a lot of fun, and a great vocalist.

  • Car crash sadly - awesome song though!

  • nice!

  • fucking win

  • very cool, i've only seen her in videos and photo's..

  • I was at this show. yea!!!

  • thank you SO MUCH for posting this!!!
