Beautiful. I've tried to do a twist out but it was a fail. I can't braid but I tried and it looked a hot mess, I didn't twist the root tight enuff so its an afro with twistand major shrinkage. Can anyone help me pleeeaaasssee
@sugamehoney I can't braid either... :( Twisting really just takes practice. You might have to experiment twisting wet vs. dry and with different products.
I never really like twists, but gurl - your twists are beautiful! One day I will try to rock them. A change has come over me about twists! Your's are so beautiful!
@jjac401 I was the exact same way! I never really cared for twist. They were just ok...then I got lazy and they became appealing and cute :D THANKS LOVE!!!
ok your hair is so pretty and the videos are nice to wacth and learn from
but i have been trying to do twist and they dont come out so good
i knw you said you use shea moisture smoothie and curly custard but can you give step by step instructions for those who are like me.. clueless about natural hair..lol for example do you twist on feshly washed hair and then blow out are is it wet and at what point do you add the oil is it when your all done with the twist are before when hair is wet.
Hi, your hairl looks so healthy n full. Wat moisturudo you use? My lil daughter is natural n she tender headed. Her hair is very dry n coil, U KNO anything that would help?please let me kno. Thanks.
@kierredestiny2 Thanks! Yes, I only used Shea Moisture. I have a mixtures on textures. I can't identify with just one. I just call it curly & wavy ;-)
@Shanatural Interesting!!! Mine is just ZIGGLY KINKY !!!!! I have a twist out with the Shea Moisture under my wig alllll week.. going to take down tomorrow..wish me luck!! =) Your hair is BEAUTIFUL!!!!
OMG!!!! I LOOOOOOVE your hair I just bought the Shea Moisture Curl Enchancing Smoothie..Im new to transitioning havent had a relaxer in 5 months and I have shoulder length hair but 4 inches of new growth. Dont have the guts to do the big B/C..but Im bout to try this style I love it !! Thanks for the video!!!!!! God Bless
@CassieAfricanQueen I didn't use Cantu or oil. I only used the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. If I need more moisture the next day I just use more of it.
Long time subbie here...um I am watching this video again just for the heck of it. FYI the three people that gave this video a thumbs down ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED that button. Please forgive them. lol Stay blessed.
@mzlibra1017 Lol! I start by conditioning my hair and detangling in the shower. I leave my hair in 4 or more sections so when I get out of the shower it is still detangled. Then I start in the back with one of the sections and divide it (clipping the rest back up) and twist until the section is completely twisted. I like to use Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie Found at Target. I have done this method on a dry hair as well but I use my spray bottle to keep it moist. Have fun twisting!
@29Gloria I would suggest a product that has some hold and conditioning properties. Maybe even a gel like Eco Styler gel. I didn't do this style when I transitioned so I apologize for not knowing more products...
beautiful hair...im only 4 months post my bc but i am so looking forward to longer twist outs lol.....u r such an inspiration...thank u...HOW MANY MONTHS NATURAL ARE U ON THIS VIDEO
Wow I'm so happy I found this video. Your hair came out gorgeous. The twist themselves are beautiful. I've been natural for a year, but I've been wearing braids and weaves as my hair continues to grow out the last bit of permed ends.
This video has made me want to start working with my hair :)
1.) make sure your hair is semi straight or blow dried straight !
2.) make sure you have a hair ponytail holder and this stuff called olive oil shine moisturizer and a spray to put water in.
3.) you just spray you hair with water like 3 to 4 times all over,
4.) than put a quarter size of the oil shine, and then brush it threw with a wig brush and put it in a ponytail and spray it 3 more times and wait for it to dry and there you go :) You hair will look like Marsha Ambrosius hair
How did you get your twists to be so neat and uniform? Mine never turns out right so I keep a scarf or hat on til I unravel them. Also, that curl enhancer cream somehow doesn't like my hair but I forced myself to finish the jar since it was $6. It always felt like it stripped the oils out of my hair. I may just go back to pure unrefined Shea.
@bellabritt16 Listen to your hair. Everyone hair likes different things. Try the Shea instead. As far as the neatness goes I honestly twist my hair in front of the television. I divide my hair into 4 even sections and work on one section at a time. Further diving it into manageable pieces. My hair is also freshly washed and damp when I twist.
My 4b hair loves this stuff too! It also keeps my edges down, gel optional. I haven't tried a twistout with it but after my "winter" challenge(I live in Florida) I will do so. Your hair's gorgeous!
@ashyash4life Your hair being short wouldn't be a problem but having relaxed hair is a problem. You won't be able to get it as defined in comparison to having natural hair.
@ashyash4life I think it varies from person to person. I did braidouts/twistouts when I was relaxed (see my channel vids) and they always came out very defined. I just had to curl the ends w/perm rods since the ends wouldn't seal against themselves.
@ubiquitousfacts Before my natural hair got this long I was cowashing my hair at least 5 days a week! But patience did eventually come with time. I told myself I would never do twist! But if you think about it... 3-4 hours in one day compared to several days spending 30min to an hour doing your hair is actually worth it! I've worn twist for up to 2 weeks. When I finally got bored with the wash n go style patience came to me...
I love your twisted out!! I'm transitioning to natural hair watchin our videos gives me hope because i had no clue on what to do with my hair.. I love this look on you
Hello! Im a teen trying to enter the natural blogging world and spread the news to other natural girls around the world. I know most of you won't but I would really appreciate if you just took a quick glance at my blog and commented on my post for some new ideas
I SOOOOO LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR HAIR... IT IS VERY PRETTY!!! I HAVE USED THAT CURL ENHANCING SMOOTHIE TO MAKE MY HAIR CURLY AND DIDNT LIKE IT THAT MUCH. but maybe i will try for my twistouts instead. right now im using miss jessie's products and i love them... your twist outs are beautiful... the best i seen so far... loving it. im subscribing to your videos. question: have you ever you just twisted your har and wore them for a few hours then did twisted them out?
@cmille08 THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!!! :D ALSO THANKS FOR SUBSCRIBING!!! I HAVE JUST TWISTED FOR HOURS AND IT HAS CAME OUT PRETTY NICELY. AS LONG AS THEY WERE DRY. ACTUALLY, I TWISTED MY HAIR LAST NIGHT AFTER DOING MY NEW VIDEO. Thanks again ;D
Loved your twist out! I also love curl smoothie, too. :) I'm still practicing twist outs -- I will achieve this look eventually. Right now, my hair is shorter so the wash & go (KCCC) is working better for me. Thanks for the motivation. :)
I love, love, love your hair. I'm transitioning right now. On August 18, 2011 it will be a year since I haven't had a relaxer. I'm loving my transition. Did you have to do a big chop? If so how long did you have to transition? Again I love the way your twist out came out. Hope to hear from you soon.
@spidey99100 Thanks a lot!!! :) I transitioned for 5 months and then did my big chop. Whether you decide to transition or go right ahead a go natural everybody has to Big Chop. You can do a series of mini chops as a few inches grow in you clip a few inches. You could also grow it completely out and eventually cut all the relaxed ends but anyway u choose they gotta go :D Stay on your transition and make sure you careful with the amount of heat u use. Don't BC until YOU are absolutely ready ;-)
@Gharia22 I let it air dry. I'm sure blowdrying it will give you more stretch but it won't be as bouncy/springy. I guess u could experiment and see how u like it on stretched hair.
@BabyChickky I actually loved the results it was exactly what i was going for. If I do it again I would def do it the same way. U should comment more often that's how I get to know my subscribers thanks for watching all this time ;D. Once your hair grows out you won't have to style it everyday.
beautiful....but mine..I have to twist and untwist everyday cause I am transitioning without the BC so its hard work but the end results pays off...LOVE YOUR VIDS even tho I don't comment on all
Indeed, this is the BEST twist-out ever! I LOOOOOVE it! Shea Moisture products are the bomb! I usually use the Deep Treatment Masque for twist-outs, but I might put the Curl Enhancing Smoothie to use! Gorgeous!
@curlycrowndotcom Thanks SOOOOO Much!!! That's an AWESOME compliment!!! I'm going to try some additional products on this line since my hair LOVES it!!! I'll have to try the Masque a lot of people rave about it. Thanks again
Whatt is yo hair type? Your hair is so pretty and how do you keep that shine? I have a big problem with frizz as a new natural. I have been natural now for 4 months. I just subscribee to your channel. I just need some guidance and some help right now. So I hope you can help me.
@LuvNeeSee Hey there THANKS!!! I have 3 textures 4a, 4b, & 3c. To minimize frizz I use gels like Eco styler gel or Kinky curly otherwise I would have a matted fuzz ball myself :) Shine comes along with healthy hair so make sure you care for it like its your most prized possession. Gently. I have my products listed on my channel if u wanna check them out. The product I used in this vid gave me a great shine as well. My tips are to detangle, use low or no heat, & deep condition. Hope this helps
@Shanatural Why heat protectant? Did you blow out your hair first and then twist? Also which heat protectant did you use? How long did this twist out last and what did you do to maintain it?
@TaShar16 I'm sorry I didn't use heat protectant at all for this style. I see that i accidentally told @p4phenomenal that I did. I was confused at which vid I was replying to. My bad but the twist out lasted for 4-5 days and I used a variation of the pineapple method to maintain it and used a satin scarf at night.
haaaaaaaaaa the slow music haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa love it

Did you blow dry it first or let it air dry before you added curl smoothie. .and do you thing blow drying first will add stretch to twist out?

Gorgeous!

Whatt is yo hair type? Your hair is so pretty and how do you keep that shine? I have a big problem with frizz as a new natural. I have been natural now for 4 months. I just subscribee to your channel. I just need some guidance and some help right now. So I hope you can help me.
LuvNeeSee 8 months ago
@LuvNeeSee Hey there THANKS!!! I have 3 textures 4a, 4b, & 3c. To minimize frizz I use gels like Eco styler gel or Kinky curly otherwise I would have a matted fuzz ball myself :) Shine comes along with healthy hair so make sure you care for it like its your most prized possession. Gently. I have my products listed on my channel if u wanna check them out. The product I used in this vid gave me a great shine as well. My tips are to detangle, use low or no heat, & deep condition. Hope this helps

How do you always get that shine!
p4phenomenal 8 months ago
@p4phenomenal I only have a heat protectant and the Shea moisture product in my hair.
Shanatural 8 months ago
@Shanatural Why heat protectant? Did you blow out your hair first and then twist? Also which heat protectant did you use? How long did this twist out last and what did you do to maintain it?
TaShar16 7 months ago
@TaShar16 I'm sorry I didn't use heat protectant at all for this style. I see that i accidentally told @p4phenomenal that I did. I was confused at which vid I was replying to. My bad but the twist out lasted for 4-5 days and I used a variation of the pineapple method to maintain it and used a satin scarf at night.
