@neil182sr Arnold was able to recruit very few men for his American Legion of loyalists. They say at most it had about 200 men, and a few of them were moles sent by Washington with the intention of capturing Arnold alive to be hanged later.

I grew up not far from where Major Andre was executed. At 6:40 there is a painting of the tavern he was kept in while awaiting execution. The tavern is still there and on a hill up the street was the site of the hanging. The town is called Tappan in Rockland County, New York.
