You notice how he pauses slightly then says "moments"...as if he's not completely sure what to call them. They're really memories but he may not realize them as such.
I see the self-congratulatory - and oxymoronic - phrase "instant classic" wrote on movies so often that it makes me ill at the abuse of the English language and the cinematic arts in general. Yet I firmly believe that in a future more distant than 20 or 50 years, that of all the movies of the 20th century, this will be one of them preserved. Nothing better captures the Western World's mania for dystopic fiction while at the same time conveying deep truths on what it means to be conscious.
Ridley Scott should make a prequel movie to this legendary classic, showing how Roy, Zhora, Pris and other Replicants escaped their slavery. It would be awesome If a prequel could show us the very things Roy describes of what hes saw in his life to Deckard before he died.
@ppmuscimol01 We can only wish. Ridley Scott keeps looking forward too much, he doesnt realize that there is more he can add to his early works (which I consider his best). Even Alien I think he could make a promising Prequel to also, but should mainly focus on showing how that ship got on LV4 26, and not mention anything about it being "Predators" lol.
@JoshLevo Yes I do agree with u there, so maybe if they tried sum CGI techniques, like wot that film Beowulf uses, Hav u saw that. And just use the original actor's voices, and likeness, with CGI to try make them look younger maybe. But just think how cool a prequel wud be.
There are maybe 3 pieces of music that can make me cry. All of them are on the BladeRunner soundtrack, and I'm not an emo. The real Vikings would cry in public. They believed if you couldn't cry, than you couldn't really laugh either. And the Vikings were bad mother fuckers.
If anyone has seen tokyo or new york at night or any industrial site at night coupled to what is happening to our enviroment and then see blade runner you'll see how visionary blade runner and particularly the book written in the 60's really was. Prophetic even
i myself was born in stockton on tees, ridley scott is a geordie from newcastle like all my family, have you ever been to stockton?i can see where he got his ideas for this movie,go to stockton on tees not tokyo and you will see
and i just realised when you said prophetic, visionary, your totally right but its been happenin for years, its a crying shame but i believe its mans nature to destroy everything around himself, that said you would think peeps would wake up but they wont
taking place today... this character helped our armies see what happens to them...still I would probably prefer not to understand how close we are to this script..outstanding this actor, in a few moments to define shelf life

This scene was probably the first time I thought about my own moments that would fade away with my own passing.
It makes you really think about mortality and the experiences unique to our own lives.

And dont forget Vangelis used a YAMAHA CS-80 Synthesizer for the music.
One of the greatest analog synthesizers ever made.

The truth of the matter, the majority of us do live in fear, we are slaves and our memories mean nothing to most people.
