She is doing very well for only pitching for 5 weeks, but practice starting with two feet on the rubber, and not taking a step back. Watch your hop as well but keep it up!

Ok, I apologize, but, for people to constantly write how illegal it is without reading any of the comments stating that we are aware of the problem and she was just learning is very sad. I assume all the softball players (and others) who told us it was wrong are pro's and were perfect the first time they tried something new.Could we just give the girl some props for trying? Why take it down? Let some other girls see another girl trying to pitch like the big girls.
I do give her props for trying. I work with my daughter on pitching and it's a hard skill to do well. I think you should leave the vid up. The only reason I suggested taking it down is because you were getting angrier with each comment. I agree that all the critisisms are a bit much, but I don't know if expecting 10 and 12 year old girls to read through a bunch of other's comments to see what's been said is realistic. Pretty impressive for 5 weeks of pitching! I dont think there's a pitcher out there that didnt start by doing something illegal at the beginning, my daughter did the same thing. You probably already know, but if not make sure she's bringing her hip through to generate more power. Enjoy practicing!
A crowhop is the replanting of the pivot foot and then delivering the pitch while a leap is when both feet are not in contact with the ground simultaneously.

shes really good...just and advice...dont get to close to the homeplate...i pitch as fast or faster than her but i dont go around like her...but for her to be 9 shes really good...keep practicing!
Thanks..Jessica is now being coached by a real pitcher.She has a brand new motion and we are very excited.She is slated to be a starting pitcher for her traveling team.She is still 9 years old.

She is pitching illegally. You cannot hop when you are delivering the pitch. She will get called for it one of these days if she keeps doing that.

She is really good at pitching. but she cant take her left foot back, but other than that she is a good pitcher.
her crow hopping is fine, but you might want to teach her not to do that because some umpires say its illegal if they crow hop.
But she is really good, and i can see her going far.

she is really good the only things she should work on is...
1. her feet placement on the base there a bit to far apart
2. not taking her back foot off the ground when exploding off the plate
other than that she's really good for only pitching for five weeks

This is not a crowhop, it is a leap.
