Rednecks typically are undereducated, religious and close minded. They also tend to have a soft spot for the old class system. It's not a leap to suggest that some rednecks harbor a latent distrust or hate for our prez and resonate with the GOP for subconsciously racist reasons.

@ekaksana - No, simply claiming racism, doesn't make you a racist. Claiming that a group, which you percieve as one race, is "racist" , without any proof, is clearly racist. Furthuremore, doing it out of political motivation is simply a racist lie and it is clearly hypocritical coming from democrats, home to the kkk.

Also, considering that white peoples necks get red when they work in the sun, the term "redneck" is racial in origins and an insult in all circles- that is why it is a racist term.

@doit420sdf The roots or racial identification, certainly in matters of segregation and racism is at it's root a biological classifier. However, the term redneck is a pejorative, nothing more. There's no Rednecklandia. You are just being argumentative and using semantics to veil your thin argument. Garofalo and liberals in general are the least racist people you will meet, whereas Repub generally are wasps who carry the torch of the old system. If you need that spelled out for you...well..

@ekaksana - Third- it absolutely is a leap of faith to suggest all these people hate the president for supposed "subconsciously racist reasons." More precisely it is a leap of racism, because you see them as not the same color as Obama. Without any proof it is simply your desire to paint them negatively, which again, in my opinion is racist. You seem like a cool person so I would be surprised if you went up to an old lady and called her racist, but thats what dems do. Thats how they lie.

I have experienced it on numerous occasions and see it all the time. I got the impression that it was an art house film from a director who got to do his labor of love. I tell you this, I would rather watch this than his latest film, QUANTUM OF SOLACE. Janeane is so magnetic. I wish she could get a great film as the lead.
