People it was a JAM - it had energy and feeling so what more could you want - it was never intended to be an audio document to be scrutinized and assessed.
Some interesting sonic textures but....this is dissonant noise. I find it very unsettling but maybe that's the point. I think sometimes experimental musicians stray too far from what resonates just for the sake of strangeness and abstraction.
I mostly really like Brian Eno's work, but this isn't his best ! = )
Where's the tune ? Compare to something like Thursday Afternoon which isn't exactly rock music but is shiningly beautiful and not glitch lite like this.
Shame to see Jon Hopkins in this as well, really like his solo stuff.
I love Brian Eno and The Necks but Sydney is totally deluded. Better experimental jams happen at low key venues in Melbourne... hang on... actually, I was writing *during* the video and when it ended I realised it was a "song" and not even improvised! Ironic that Melbourne coincided with a visit by TIger Woods instead of an Arts festival. What is going on in Australia? I'm flummoxed.
brian Eno is a F@ckin genius

I know I just commented but god DAMN, anyone who says this is "dissonant noise" hasn't even heard past the half way mark.

i don't understand the backlash for this track, around the 2:30 mark or w/e it becomes like, alien dance music. it's awesome!

Trhoughout the entire concert Eno was front and left of stage, toying with some keyboards and doing some narration.

Wait... was Eno actually in this jam??? And if so where was he on the stage?
ALoveEternal 2 years ago
He was left of stage - as he was for the entire concert!

Huh, ok I think I can make him out now. Live Eno shows are ridic from what I've seen. I need to make it to one before he stops touring :(
