  • It seems to me nazism was a combination of many factors..

  • Nietzsche and the Nazis is the most interesting documentary I have ever seen. I had little understanding of "National Socialism" before seeing this and had no idea the root of Nazi evil was indeed socialism. I saw it on Netflix streaming so enjoy this free youtube presentation.

  • Comical that these fools really believed this nonsense. Germany was barely 60 years old and these fools desperately tried to believe this make-believe history. Amazingly delusional.

  • @cavaleer

It's a very long film, what do you mean, the delusional Germans thinking they had some kind of genetic heritage?

  • @constructivereconcil I mean thinking that their ancient ancestors would be found in Tibet. Thinking that something that MAY have happened thousands of years ago had ANYTHING to do with them. A quick glance at all the Nazi "leaders" shows they have the most varied ancestral and physiological backgrounds. A quick glance at the region's history shows the same things. They're desperate to prove/claim something they themselves were most clearly not- elite, privileged, gifted in body and soul.

  • @cavaleer "I mean thinking that their ancient ancestors would be found in Tibet. Thinking that something that MAY have happened thousands of years ago had ANYTHING to do with them"

Yeah, it's all delusional from this vista, but the 19th century was the fundamental platform for all of the strife we have today that wasn't already present due to the pursuit of theocracy on the part of certain specific religions. The fact that these tensions and fallacies still exist is why I uploaded it.

  • @cavaleer "A quick glance at all the Nazi "leaders" shows they have the most varied ancestral and physiological backgrounds"

Well yeah & while I could be wrong, I think they were not promoting themselves on individual merit but on the supposition that they could cite positive aspects of historical "evolution" & drive those elements that they wished to reinforce. It was viewed by them as a kind of social engineering, not really bragging about their ancestor's DNA, but I could be wrong.

  • @cavaleer "Nazi "leaders" shows they have the most varied ancestral and physiological backgrounds..region's history shows the same..They're desperate to prove/claim something they themselves were most clearly not"

Yes, I agree. I already responded to what I think about their stated motives , but as to their true motives, you are dead on correct. I think also that the sense of urgency came from the idea that empires also evolve, & if it came to it, they wished to be last empire standing,

  • @cavaleer

Thanks for your comments. Hopefully you'll stick around and offer suggestions on some of the other films.

  • @constructivereconcil Again, I am not in any way criticizing you or even this professor. I think his work is superb. It could be better but he's tackled the issues more comprehensively and cogently than anyone I've yet seen. I'd be happy to contribute and further the understanding of Nietzsche. I've read him since I was 14. I'm now 41.

  • @cavaleer Glad to have you here.

  • @constructivereconcil The pleasure is mine. It's refreshing to know that at least ONE real professor has examined Nietzsche openly. I had countless arguments with professors my freshman year of college about Nietzsche and other philosophers because they never wanted to take him at face value. So I dropped philosophy and studied History, i.e., reality. This gentleman has his shortcomings but this is an impressive first step.

  • @cavaleer You should check out his web site. He seems kind of middle America, but he does transcend that plain image after a while. The fact that he didn't understand why Mein Kampf is a best seller in Turkey was not impressive, but who knows everything?

If you can't find his web site and you need my help, let me know and I'll figure it out.

  • @constructivereconcil I'll look for him. I didn't know he had a site. Interesting. Thanks again.

  • @constructivereconcil Why do you think Nietzsche said- "anti-semite, another word for underprivileged." Only the pathetic have-nots and mediocrities need to hang their identity on other places, times and peoples, on something as imaginary as what these fools believed. The privileged know they are privileged in mind and body RIGHT NOW. That's why you never saw any such nonsense as this in ancient Greece or Rome. Nothing even close, esp. not from the elites. Witness Perikles REJECTION of Homer

  • @cavaleer "Why do you think Nietzsche said- "anti-semite, another word for underprivileged"

I'm not sure. I don't recall enough of the context, but I think he considered anti-Semites as jealous & he admired the Jews of his time, & his criticism seems to be entirely based on the idea that they either forged the Bible or brought ideas to society that it is good to preserve & protect those weaker individuals that in nature would be culled. He wanted man to operate by the laws of the jungle?

  • @cavaleer "Why do you think Nietzsche said- "anti-semite, another word for underprivileged." Only the pathetic have-nots and mediocrities need to hang their identity on other..."

I don't have deeply pursued thoughts on Nietzsche or even philosophy other than my belief re how crucial it enabled Nazis to persuade the people who elected them in that time & place. Not discussed in the film are the other ideas we still contend w today. The prof doesn't understand Islam or Turkey (re Mein Kampf).

  • @constructivereconcil Witness the Roman conquest of Greece and Macedonia. The truly "great soul" and body, would never stoop to such vulgarities and pettiness as these losers. That's why Nietzsche was so dismissive of German culture as a whole, something Hitler obviously skipped. He saw the entire thing as a "flatland", one big herd. The Nazis only proved that point to devastating consequences. Socialism- another word for LOSER. But losers want power just like everything else. Such is Life.

  • @cavaleer "That's why Nietzsche was so dismissive of German culture as a whole, something Hitler obviously skipped"

I'd of course agree, but I am not at all surprised when Hitler or any other tyrant simply takes anything that they can use, without any regard for whether it's honest, authentic or legitimate. They simply assert their tyranny in whatever form they can get away with. Intellectual honesty in a tyrant? Intellectual honesty is almost antithetical to tyrannym isn't it?

  • @constructivereconcil Haha, HONESTY in any form is avoided at all costs by losers and misfits like Hitler and his gang. Nietzsche was probably the most mercilessly honest thinker I've come across in the Christian Era of Europe. Only my American sage Emerson came to similar conclusions about christianity but he was nowhere near as thorough and rigorous in excavating it in all its forms. Stylistically, Nietzsche's prose is without peer, to me at least. Emerson was more of a poet of course.

  • is it allowed to upload the whole movie? Is it not copywrited?

  • @erdal0 US Copyright laws have a provision known as "Fair Use." This means that certain uses are fair if you can show

web copyright dot gov Section 107 contains a list of the various purposes for which the reproduction of a particular work may be considered fair, such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Section 107 also sets out four factors to be considered in determining whether or not a particular use is fair: "nonprofit educational"

  • I recently watched this via Netflix because they have it on instant play. This was incredible. Truly insightful.

  • @LloydandLori

I can't believe how few people have seen or even heard of it. I want to ask him to do the same for Islam. This is why I uploaded it, because the same questions need to be asked about Islam.

The UN is expected to facilitate "peace" initiatives, but when you have an orientation & set of beliefs that is not compatible, the very minimum that needs to be done is to get everything "on the table." The West needs to negotiate from a position of strength in the case of the war on terror.

  • Excellent, accurate & visually effective summary of Nazi history. I'm looking forward to Pt. 2.
