I am a Christian myself. I play spore and I find it hilarious! It makes evolution look absolutely ridiculous. But.. I do see your point. Spore isn't really about evolution. It has the evolution as game theme. But if it really would, be about evolution, players would become pretty fast pissed off since their "cock monsters" would get killed by predators and only crippled, mutant generations would survive.

Also you have to consider that evolution has no goal, but simply goes the path of lowest resistance. In Spore the evolution of your race is pretty much linear with an end in which your race conquers space. However, evolution doesn't mean to become better and more intelligent. Basically, even a simple unintelligent predator could have already reached his "end" of evolution if his enviroment doesn't support any new changes in his species.

Spore is a game, not a simulation of evolution. Therfor calling Spore a simulation is a big mistake, probably basing on misconceptions of evolution.

Creationists should know:

This game doesn't support any serious theory

of evolution. Evolution is a graphical theme of the game and not really the topic of it. Therfor it teaches not really mechanism of evolution. And therfor there's no need to protest against Spore or to curse Will Wright.
