  • um why am I watching this?

  • Those are kittens?

  • The hat holds the answer. The hat counts as a head for one of the cats at first, but after moving the pieces, it's only a hat.

  • but is really funny , wath is the theme song??

  • @ELMARQUESO The song is a royalty-free soundloop from GarageBand, it is called "peach cobbler". Best, Peter

  • First - It's not one kitten disappeared. It's one kitten appear

Means: In the original Puzzle there is only 11 kittens. So we need to answer why :)

Let's see: in 11_kitten_puzzle, the first cat(flag) has 2 legs. But in 12_kitten_puzzle it has no legs. Where does its legs go? the flag cat's legs were shared with the rest.

How?: In 11_kitten_puzzle, 10th cat take flag cat's legs. The 8th cat take 10th cat legs, 5th take 8th. continue

    That's why 12_kitten is shorter than 11_kitten?

    -0 char left

  • The cat holding the flag and the cat with flowers holds the answer. Before swapping the picture, the cat holding the flag don't have any legs, but when swapped, the cat with flag have legs. Then if you see carefully, both flag cat and flower cat isn't connected with any legs, but after swapping, the flag cat have legs but the flower cat don't, meaning that the cat with flag is the additional cat to that picture :) I hope I'm right

  • Heh. Just noticed how this is possible. It's all in the angle of the placement to allow for a minimum distortion of the body in the 12-cat version. The 11-cat version is the true version, obviously, but when the loop of 3 is shifted to the other side, the final cut is at the hat, resulting in no missing head part. There's just 1/11th of a cat removed from each cat in the 12-cat version. :p

  • some cats u cant see the legs which is y its 1 less because the bodys r movin and 1 pair of legs is left out

  • when you count 12, 3 cats shows only their heads, in the part above, with no feet in the part below, but when you move the part above, one of the cat that has no feet before, now has feet in the part below making him a complete cat, then, you left only 2 cats showing their heads.. so...you count 11. cool!!!!!

  • nutshovel.

  • Its all about this hat!

Before sliding it presents the Head of one kitten, after sliding it is on top of a head. Means the Kitten afterwards has two "heads"... and one "kitten" disapears!

I'm I right? ...or just talking a rubish?... I'm not quite sure.

  • @ConeliusC33 Yeah, I noticed that as well. I think that is the answer. The kitten with the hat has his head made up of the hat and the bottom part of the face. When the part B is moved across, the hat goes on the kitten with the blocks. This kitten then has effectively two heads, although we count it as one. Therefore we count one less kitten. Also, the reason we can't just count the legs instead of the heads is because some kittens in the picture are shown without legs.

  • I found how it is done

  • its the cat with that hat who havent got a full face in the beginning who will disepair in the end cause of that blue hat am i right?

  • the flag cat is not a whole cat as its legs are not showing

  • I think this is pretty simple. There are 11 kitten halves on top, and 9 halves of a kitten on the bottom. When you move the first 2 kitten heads, and shift the board over, the kitten that you originally counted as number 4 becomes connection to the bottom half of kitten number 1, were as before Kitten 4 dd not have a bottom half because it would have been "hidden" behind another kitten. This takes away a whole kitten because now it is combined with another. Count

  • @Asodinn Count*, since there are 9 and 11, and the difference is there should be a way to cut the board again and shift it, to remove yet another kitten. However I can't visualize it.

  • I GOT IT THERE ARE 12 LEGS AND 9 HEADS ONE OF THE HEADS GOES TO ON UNPAIRED LEG AND THERE WILL BE...FUCK YOU!

  • @ioalepop If you count just 12 legs and 9 heads, please count again. And there's no need to be rude. Best, Peter

  • @DesignPD I counted again, there are 11 and 1/2 cats, the flag cat, is not a whole cat :P

  • Its a matter of exchanging heads and bodies;every cat's exchanging a head or a body with another.Except for the cat that's playing with bubbles (NOT the one that is blowing the bubbles) is exchanging with nothingness.everybody is givin somethin to other except the one standin behind the guitarist. The empty place or nothingness is coming from the white right edge of the puzzle (A) that has to occupy a place when it was moved.this white empty piece of puzzle (A) took the spot behind the guitarist.

  • @rashchari I like your deduction, however you also bring to light, originally there are 3 cats not connected to anything on the bottom, however after the move there are only 2 cats not connected to anything at the bottom. There were never 12 cats, there were 11 and 1/2 cats. So all this did was take a 1/2 of a cat away. Look closely at the flag, it should have a bottom half see-able through the blocks by its positioning, but it doesn't, thus meaning this cat is already half Chinese food.

  • For me, 1 head = 1 cat.

Therefore, both combinations have 11 cats, but the second one gives the illusion that we see only 11 of them.

  • I ride turtelz at 10000000000000 gallons per mile

  • Cat 5 (with an arm behind back) & cat 8 (with the bubbles) are merged, but with three arms. This fusion doesn't leave any cat spare parts because, from the beginning, there were cat parts missing: one arm of cat 2, the legs of cat 4, the upper half of the head of cat 6, the lower half of the head of cat 12. All these are being redistributed so, instead of 12 cats with missing body parts, we get 11 complete cats, while two "identities" are merged into one (and no cat vanishes). Still spooky tho.

  • three of the kittens dont have any of their bodies on the lower half, when you moved them down one of those kittens moved onto a body making it so that its 11 kittens

  • The kitten under letter be initially started with only half its body and the kitten with the flowers also started off with no head. So you actually still started off with 11 kittens in the first place.

  • 11 pairs of eyes. The first pic has a bear without eyes but with a hat. The hat moves onto a hat, the eyes of a bear half face replaces it. The one bear without legs gains legs, and thus completes the illusion.

  • There are just 11 cat legs...

before the move: the legs from one cat are missing... (but its a little bit hidden)

and after the move the cat without legs get legs!

but u think wait... there are 12 cat heads...

yes but one head was made out of a hat...

this hat goes after the move on another cat head ;)

    yey i solved it :D

  • check the flag cat the hat cat and the reading cat then you will figured out

  • Dont u hate it when you look at the top comment of a magic trick while its loading and its says the answer! GRR damn u msupermario7!

  • @MrJumbub Don't worry! If anyone would have posted the CORRECT answer, I would have already asked him to hide his comment … but you can be sure: Neither msupermario7 nor stovnut is completely right – even if they recognized some interesting signs. ;-) Best wishes, Peter

  • @DesignPD You are wrong because people have gotten it right. First off the cat with the flag has no legs. But when you move it over it lines up with another pair of legs removing one set of legs from the picture. Next is the cat with the hat. Originally the hat is just supposed to be covering one of the cats heads but when you move it over the cat gains top of its face and the hat becomes a hat for a cat with a full face removing the rest of one cat from it so you are left with 11. LAWYERED

  • @Revolution1221 You, and many others who posted comments to this video, have recognized many correct details. All these details are important to solve the puzzle completely. But the completely right answer was only posted one or two times – and it's not one of the best rated comments. I'll send you a direct message. Best, Peter

  • they have 9 body xD

  • tv

  • is not magic you bitch is a trick

  • I think it is the original picture. the original picture (that is shown later) has 11 kittens. However, the trick starts with the second picture where there is 1 hat and 11 set of eyes that make us think there are 12 kittens. Later on the puzzle is moved to reveal the original picture where the hat gets back to the cats head (make us lose one cat) and the other cat gets her set of eyes back. I hope it makes sense to you. Start with the second picture where there are 11 kittens in the first place

  • @rashchari you are probably correcet i have wached this over and over and yes are most likely to be the the one with the real anser!

  • @blahblahcourtz

Thanks, did you post the kitten puzzle on youtube? it is a good one

  • @rashchari The original picture is the first one we see. If you look at the kitten that is grabbing the butterfly with one hand and the other is behind his back, when the picture is moved, the kitten with the bubbles has three arms. The third arm is behind his back. Basically the cat with the hat loses the hat and gains a face while the hat is moved to the other cat. Thus losing a kitten during the transition. Puzzle solved.

  • The cat with the blue hat is only half a cat, the hat itself is sufficient to make one count it as a cat.

  • The one with the blue hat has half a face, and so does the one with the book, thats why. (i think)

  • Its an optical illusion, you may see how its done, but you cant "explain" it sensibly.

  • the 4 cat has no legs

  • Bah! They look more like bears to me anyway.

  • SPOILER ALERT! The solution (I think anyway) :-

No single cat disappears. The solution is that each cat is slightly larger when there are eleven of them. Or conversely, when there are twelve cats at the beginning, one twelfth of each body is missing, from ears to toe.

  • The one waving the blue flag is only half there.

  • I got it!! count the number of cat mouths, the cat with the book has its mouth hidden, when he shifts the pieces, the cat with the book gets another face... thats the trick

  • no, the fourth cat on the first variation only has half a body

  • Betwen the book and the hat you get one face. The uper part and the lower part complete the face less.

  • I remember seeing this puzzle in a Martin Gardner book when I was a kid, except it was with tigers and natives.

  • The music starts to get on your nerves after watching it 20 times in trying to figure it out... :)

  • The real answer is it's down to the cat with the flag and the cat with the blocks. Before the move the cat with the flag has no legs and the cat with the blocks has no hat, after the move they do.

You can say that before the move there are 10 cats + two half cats, afterwards the two halves have been brought together to make one whole cat.

  • Comment removed

  • I has nothing to do with the cat in the hat (LOL) The cat with the blue flag has his legs hidden but when he moved the blocks over he got legs! :D

  • I've figured it out. HAT CAT!! One cat had a hat covering it's eyes. After the swap it got ears and eyes. The hat moved ON TOP OF a head. not instead of eyes and ears. It makes sense now

  • Count the number of cats in (A+B) = 11 Cats (exclude blocks cat)

Count the number of cats in (C) = 9 Cats (exclude cats w/o legs)

    After swap

Count the number of cats in (A+B) = 10 Cats (exclude hat cat)

Count the number of cats in (C) = 9 Cats

    ITS HAT CATTT!!!

  • its more amazing that the pieces actually match even when swapted

  • how do you remove the build in-build out effects from the text in iMovie?

  • hehe. I figured it out in about 1 minute and then I showed my dad . He said that he had seen it before and that he had never figured it out. He's a teacher and he right now he could teach me, yet he couldn't figure it out over probably more that a year and I figured it out in a minute. In other words, I'M SMARTER THAT A TEACHER!

  • @mrfiggleable: thaN a teacher (;

  • cat number 7 disappers

  • i got the secret

  • 1/2 of disappeared kitten, i.e. paws of the 1st kitten, moves to the 4-th kitten with the flag. Another 1/2 of the disappeared kitten, i.e hat of the 6th one, moves to the 3rd kitten without upper part. So this 2 inferior kittens divide 1 kitten to become full-bodied )

  • the one whit the flag first hasn't got a body later it has, the one whit the head first hasn't got eyes later it has

  • The kitten in B doesn't even have feet.... O.o

  • Man I must suck at counting...... I counted 12 both times...

  • I fugured it out the cat with the flag had noo feet but when you move it there is feet.

there is only 11 bodies but 12 cat tops.

  • If you pause the video and alternate between pressing 3 and 8, you can see what is happening.

  • also the blue flag one didnt have a body

  • weird man

  • for all who still want to find out, dont mind the previous "solutions", take your time cause its more than that (dont read the following if you dont want to be spoiled) i'ts swapping more and more body for each cat, like this: 1: hatcat receives eyes from guitarcat 2: guitcat rcvs eyes from bookcat 3: bookcat ENTIRE HEAD from ballcat 4: >HEAD AND ARM by butterflycat 5: >HEAD AND TWO ARMS by bubblecat 6: >head/arms/height by soothercat 7: >same+more height by left cat 8: >same by flagcat done

  • i found 12th cat (the blue hat) it is a paw there

  • только одиннадцать снизу нарисованы,

    двенадцатый становится шляпой

  • no its a fake...

  • @chocolatology NOPE!!! there should be a cat above the cat plying da guitar, because if you put your mouse on the cat above the other cat playing da guitar at 0:14, then switch to 0:23, if you look above the guitar playing cat, a cat thts supposed 2 b there is gone!!!

  • @smartgirl090909

in other words, cat # 10 appears at 0:01, but dissapears at 0:30

  • Look at the B! theres a bear what disappered.

  • under B theres the kitten that will dissapear

  • pressing 1 and 8 will let you switch the views back and forth... then you can see how it works.

  • @Kittani1977 Great youtube trick, I'll remember it.

  • its the location of the cat with the bubbles that change... the cat with the bubbles bottom is hidden behind the guitarist! when moved that cat with the bubbles voes to the one with the flower... but if u look at the guitarist he looks fine. i/e the missing cat!

  • its the location of the cat with the bubbles that change... the cat with the bubbles bottom is hidden behind the guitarist! when moved that cat with the bubbles voes to the one with the flower... but if u look at the guitarist he looks fine. i/e the missing cat!

  • @ennevtrebor Oh yes that's an even cleaner explanation than mine - the missing cat is the one that used to be above the guitarist! At first the cats were distributed like this:

    1-1-2-1-2-1- !2! -1-1

(2 = two cats one above the other one); after the move, they are:

    1-1-2-1-2-1- !1! -1-1

The missing cat has been merged with the third "1" from the previous distribution.

  • there's only 11 pairs of eyes and only 11 sets of feet so when you look at first one cat has no feet and one has no eyes but when you rearrange it all 11 cats have both eyes and feet making it seem like you lost a cat

  • the one holding the flag under the b

  • The one holding the flag disappears.

  • Mysteriös - eine Katze verschwindet ;-). Wir sollten den Katzendetektiv zu Hilfe rufen.

  • I FIGURED IT OUT! it's the cat with the hat...when you first see him he has a hat covering his eyes however if you move it down the hat sits on top of anothers head making it look like there is one less cat

  • @msupermario7 but both cats are still full seen (Sorry for bad english)

  • @broetchenmampfer that changes nothing it is an illusion the flag cat behind the cat that will get the hat has no legs until he is moved to the far left thus making one cat in reality the cat with the hat before the switch has no to part of his head and the flag cat before switch has no legs that is how it works

  • @msupermario7 so retard how the hat can make difference? its the one with the blue flag, firstly it hasnt body and then when u move it it has so... 1 less

  • @Themasterdiablo but it's true nigger

  • @msupermario7 PLUS; the cat on card B doesn't have any legs... until it moves.

  • Jetz hab Ich´s: Ein Fehler in der Matrix!

  • Versteh Ich nicht..

  • If you label all the cats and what body parts they match up with in any of the two positions, you will notice that the flag cat only has a body for one position.

You also will notice that the hat acts like a fake head, on one cat it's a head on the other it's a hat... So basically, you give a cat a head, and give a cat a body...

Also look up the vanishing leprechaun.

  • i know how you did this its easy to do...

  • My mind is blown
