Also if you must know the "endagered dirt" is a real thing in the Utah deserts and they put that scene in the movie soley because the park rangers at the park kept bothering the cast and film crew about not walking in certain areas. B2s aren't a couple billion a piece, they are 700 million which is still expensive as hell but they aren't a COUPLE BILLION!

While it costs $700m per plane (same as the replacement cost) this does not factor in the gargantuan development cost.

It took decades of the most advanced research to even design the B2, and congress had to pay for that.

So as far as the taxpayer is concerned the plane costs the unit costs ($700m) plus the total development cost divided by the number of planes (only 21 ever built).

But you are still right, it should only cost $700mil to replace a B2.

i watched all thre parts of your review, i enjoyed it, but about the parts of why live nukes, i think in th emovie they explain that they wanted to see if the nukes gave of a radioactive glo of some kind that would give away thier position. they use really powerful ones to get the best possible reading (crowd pleasers) was the term they used

One point: there are a couple lines of dialog right up front to the effect that they need live nukes on board because they're testing a technique for detecting nuclear-armed bombers using gamma emissions. It isn't actually as flimsy a premise as you might think; I wrote my master's thesis on it.
