4:05 AM and I can't get to sleep and now.... I'm scared. Yes talking about killings in the middle of the night scares some 11 year old girls... Including me. But great video!
Technically, he wouldn't be Louis XVII, would he, JP my friend? That would be a regnal name, and as he was never crowned, he would have remained only the Dauphin (French crown prince) and have no claim to a regnal name.
Wait, wait, wait, wait....the movie Anastasia is historically inaccurate? You mean she doesn't run off with a cute guy named Dimitri? My childhood allusions are shattered!
I love that you talked about Anastasia! Being a Russian and all thats one of the stories I grew up with! When the Romanov family was finally all together they had a big ceremony for them as a proper burial. I remember watching it and crying my eyes out. Its a bittersweet memory from my childhood. :)
It funny that writers know some form of history and do well in school. My history teacher loves writeing and she teaches two class about writing and how writing is changing over time like i alwas tell her and my english teacher "from old engish to new english and to text.(lol brt jk wtf....)"
do you agree? I think you should talk about this.
I really hate History, but I do like little tidbits like this! :D Makes it FAR more interesting than just trying to remember the dates when wars started/ended. :/
This video made me so happy, Jackson! The stories of the Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette's family, Amelia Earhart, and the Romanov family are 3 of my absolute favorites!
whoa, the journeys of a royal heart, a skeleton, and Russian duchesses. I agree, who loses a freaking skeleton! don't you think someone would be watching it 24/7?
I like the idea of Amelia Earhart landing on an island and surviving for a while. Maybe because I just started watching Lost? Whatever, it's still cool. (Also, screw facts, that Anastasia movie is still my favorite. ^_^)
If youve never been to Fiji, they kind of dont care about much other than sitting around and drinking kava, kickin it like a boss. Nice people, no work ethic or ability to care about historical materials.
I love this video! I love real-life mysteries like this. You should definitely do more videos like this in the future. They're always so interesting, and I love learning something new without having to go to school...
This just made my night. I've been sort of obsessed with Anastasia and Disney animation. (Even though Anastasia isn't a Disney production, but Don Bluth did work on some Disney films.) Anyway, this is an awesome video. :)
Know any history about anyone who managed to escape death? Oh, people in the past where very thorough when it came to eradicating the enemy.
The daily lives and culture of people in different time periods have always been more exciting to me then dates and records. Anthropology = fun! Well, when some of the time, at least.
That was a pretty cool video. I liked hearing about that. I too am interested in their personal lives or gossip. Lol. I know what History is important but...Idk. Nice video, Jackson!
I love the history of Anastasia Romanov. I know that her mother was English and the granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Crazy no? There's some random history facts.
@TwilightGeisha The tsarnia was born in Germany to a German father and an English mother (her mother was Princess Alice, daughter of Queen Victoria). So she was German by birth, English by heritage, and Russian by marriage.
From what I read in an article about the dead son of the last Austrian emperor, they still cut out the heart of some European royalty and bury it separately. Fun stuff.
Also, I find the lives of the Romanov family so tragic.
But I love videos about history. I hope you make some more!
Wasn't there an old woman who washed up on shore somewhere at some time(vague memory is vague) and claimed she was Anastasia? Even when no-one believed her she still claimed it until she died several years later. That what my brother told me when I was a kid anyway.
@xXXHariboXX She didn't exactly wash up, but I think you mean Anna Anderson, a famous Anastasia Romanov imposter. She was put in a mental institution after a suicide attempt, but refused to give them her name. After about two years, she began claiming she was Anastasia. People who actually KNEW Anastasia said Anna was an imposter, but she still managed to convinced a lot of people (probably out of genuine mental illness). DNA testing since then proven that she was, in fact, an imposter.
I'm glad someone shares my interest for historical figures personal lives! Especially the general sex lives/how many affairs they had/if they had a secret male lover etc.
i LOVE antastasia! my favorite movie as a kid! and the songs are just poetic musical gold. (second to brandi carlile but whatever)
