But I doubt it'll dominate over the Nintendo DS or the Sony PSP for mobile gaming unless all games use the accelerometers for most or all of the control and that's not practical for a few genres. You could make use of the screen for controls, but if you have to make buttons on the screen, then that can cost the graphics some real estate.
Plus, there's the pesky problem with sneaky licensing terms on purchased downloaded media versus physical media.
the first guy is a fucking moron and he is a mac video blogger he says "the plastic back.... they shouldve gone with aluminum. duh gps and 3g chips thats why theres a plastic back..... dork
Before Iphone 3g, one could get a free phone when they renewed their contract like the blackjack 2. One could sell it for 260.00 on ebay. 399-260=139.00. Now the phone costs 199.00. I think I got the better deal.
The 4GB iPhone costs $399, the 16GB iPhone3G costs $299 and the 8GB one costs $199. The iPhone3G is more powerful, and is, without a doubt, more expensive to manufacture.
If you don't see the scam there you're really blind.
its not a scam, its a sales gimmick. they're selling it cheap to get the iphone into the hands of millions more who would then(most of them) become future customers as well when iphone 3 comes out.
its called market penetration strategy. apple are genius.
it does not bother me. its the persons choice what he wants to buy. nobodys forcing nobody.
i think it will either be an outrageous price per month and just scam for money.
or they will use this to get more people buying it therefore seeing that a mac/macbook would be the next step. it would role in a lot of money either way. i prefer option 2 though ; )
AT&T assumes some of the costs of the phone to allow for a lower retail price. Then AT&T recoups what they spent through the profit they will collect when they lock buyers in on a contract agreement. Otherwise, if you buy the phone without a contract, you will pay the full price which is higher than $199 for an 8 GB phone.
This tactic is not new, so it doesn't make Apple a genius. But, it is still a good idea to spurn adoption and greater market share.
you do know that the plastic back is cheaper to put on and either way they are raising their price quite a bit and also the low price means more apple customers, talk about great marketing strategies
Aha what if they saw the iPhone now and how big a success it is

no offense but they should've let the price stay as it is

The iPhone is indeed a really nice thing.

Lol, yeah, the price is good. I bet they'll be angering many original iPhone owners with the low price.
