@MsMetro7 What year was that MsMetro? You don't happen to know anyone that recorded it by any chance? I sure would love to see that. Imagine Led Zeppelin ! I bet he did a wonderful job too. Thanks for enlightening us with that info.
Aieee, never fails to get me on my feet dancing around the room! Steve, one of the greats. Rosedale Park hosted the best of the best for Tejano, some of the happiest times of my life were spent there. Thanks so much for uploading this.
to the 7293 the two gorditos, well one of them is pete garza bass player for latin breed and at the time playing for steve at salute and the other is probably the sound guy
I JUST FIGURED OUT WHY ESTEBAN IS AT HIS BEST IN THIS VIDEO. HE SHOULD BE AROUND 57 IN THIS VIDEO, WHICH IS THE AGE I AM RIGHT NOW, AND LIKE THEY SAY, THE 50'S ARE THE NEW 40'S. WHAT A MAN! DID HE PLAY OTHER SONGS THIS NIGHT? IF SO, WHY DOESN'T ANYONE PUT THE VIDEO ON HERE? I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM! PLEASE HELP! THANKS.
AFTER VIEWING ALL THE VIDEOS OF ESTEBAN JORDAN, AND NEVER HAVING EXPERIENCED HIM IN PERSO, I BELIEVE THAT 1996 WAS THE BEST YEAR FOR ESTEBAN, HIS SINGING IS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL IN THIS VIDEO, HIS ACCORDION PLAYING AT A MEGA-BEST, WITH NO COMPETITION IN SIGHT, HIS GRITOS VERY CLEAR AND FROM THE HEART, AND HE IS HAVING SO MUCH FUN AND REALLY ENJOYING WHAT HE DID BEST. IF I COULD GO BACK IN TIME, I WOULD GO BACK TO MAY 9TH, 1996, AND ATTEND THIS DANCE OR CONCERT. THIS WOULD BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.
I have never thanked OLDSCHOOLROLAS for posting this video, I guess because I enjoy it so much, but now I want to thank Oldschoolrolas, and hope he still has the original, in case anything happens to this one, he can post again. I am so afraid I am going to wear it out. You did a great job recording this one. Keep up the good work, and thank you kindly.
THIS IS A VERY SAD DAY FOR ME. I'VE BEEN ASKING FRIENDS TO DRIVE ME TO SAN ANTONIO TO SEE ESTEBAN, KNOWING VERY WELL HE WAS FIGHTING HARD FOR HIS LIFE, BUT NO ONE TOOK ME. I'LL LISTEN TO THIS, MY FAVORITE VIDEO, ALL DAY. ESTEBAN, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, AND REMEMBER YOU UNTIL I DIE. YOU MY FRIEND, WERE THE BEST. PLEASE PLAY FOR EVERYONE UP THERE. TO HIS FAMILY: MY SINCERE CONDOLENCES, AND MAY YOU FIND THE WAY TO COPE WITH YOUR GREAT LOSS. GOD BLESS YOU.
i had the pleasure meeting u esteban, your a nice guy with creative talent and also a hard worker who worked all your life to make music for others to enjoy and something so wonderful that you carried it to your sons who love it as much as you do. i also had the pleasure of meeting your sons that day janet took me to your home. i still see you and your sons in my mind since that day. your sons are incredibly friendly, caring, & talented people. You and your sons are in my prayers. God Bless.
I think the 2 "Gorditos" in the background playing or just standing there, behind Estevan, appear to be in AWE of Esteban. They appear to be in shock, but who can blame them? I probably would be too.
This is my favorite video of Steve Jordan. I watch it every night 2 or 3 times before I go to bed. The guy is the best accordian player and has so much fun. Love his Grito !!!!!
he plays every friday night a Salute on St. Mary's st. in San Antonio. Admission is $10 and well worth it. He is definitly ill, but still kicks ass and shows everyone how to play that fuckin' squeezebox!!!!!!!!! Long live the king, Steve Jordan!!!!!
I remember this...from your angle it looks like I was close to you cuz....I was recording it from the center maybe the 5th person back....it was so much fun!!!!!!
Late 80's I did one gig, one gig with this great master..it was with Ramiro Cervera..
I figured he was just another polkedo..he can PLAY..this guy plays jazz on the squeeze box like I've never heard anyone play..one of the great musicians from San Antonio..
esteban Jordan is a genuis,we need to honor him for his musical contribution before it s too late.Him,flaco, domingo are giants that need our love and recognition.Let push for a stamp of the legends of the accordion.Augie Bareno

Steve performs most nights starting @ 9pm. He's 70, been fighting cancer for the past two years, but still plays a great set. Don't miss him!
