PAOK would be mid-table and AEK & Aris would be lower half of the Prem. Then another 3 teams (like Larissa, Kavala, Panionios) would be like the better championship teams (which doesn't mean they couldn't be competitive in the Prem, look how well Blackpool are doing!). The lower half of the table is indeed Championship level. But the big Greek teams are strong

Yes, I'm a little skeptical of the idea that the best US athletes don't go into soccer. The argument runs that bigger guys, who run 4 second 40m dashes, go into NFL. Where is a 40m dash going to get you in soccer? Not even a pitch length. Soccer players typically run 8 miles in a game, and they don't get a sit down every 2 minutes. Not to diss NFL, but just to get facts straight - a different kind of athlete (and mentality) plays soccer. And let's face it, neither soccer or NFL are rugby.

The athletes America has in the NFL are on a different level then Rugby players. Bigger, faster, stronger... Football also has much more planning and strategy involved. It is true that the best athletes in America do not play soccer (on the most part) It is about 6th on the pecking order of sports.
The best athletes in American sports that would probably do amazing are in basketball. Most ppoint guards have great skill, speed, stamina and are still much bigger than most South Americans and on average with europeans.
actually basketball are some of the worst athletes in this country. I played college basketball and football. The average vert for NBA basketball players is 29' and a lot of these guys are very skinny. In football the average is 35' with a lot bigger people who do not even train to jump.

@supahdupahguy81 the top 6 in Greece are all Premiership level teams. Panathinaikos & Olympiakos would finish anywhere between 5th & 8th. PAOK would be mid-table and AEK & Aris would be lower half of the Prem. Then another 3 teams (like Larissa, Kavala, Panionios) would be like the better championship teams (which doesn't mean they couldn't be competitive in the Prem, look how well Blackpool are doing!). The lower half of the table is indeed Championship level. But the big Greek teams are strong

Is Hector Raul Cuper a good coach? Yes I agree, he should be coaching a bigger better club.
Is Hull's coach 'crap'? Well he kept Hull up when they should of gone down, next year he got them promoted, next year against all odds he kept them there, and we are still in the Premiership, there are at least 4 clubs worse than Hull, Hull won't be relegated.

he was suspended for 3 of them and he needed rest after playing outstanding in the 09 Confederations cup. I'm still upset the Ref sent him off late against Spain for a very soft tackle that deserved only a yellow. that was the 3rd of its kind the US was handed in that tournament.

Yes, I'm a little skeptical of the idea that the best US athletes don't go into soccer. The argument runs that bigger guys, who run 4 second 40m dashes, go into NFL. Where is a 40m dash going to get you in soccer? Not even a pitch length. Soccer players typically run 8 miles in a game, and they don't get a sit down every 2 minutes. Not to diss NFL, but just to get facts straight - a different kind of athlete (and mentality) plays soccer. And let's face it, neither soccer or NFL are rugby.

The athletes America has in the NFL are on a different level then Rugby players. Bigger, faster, stronger... Football also has much more planning and strategy involved. It is true that the best athletes in America do not play soccer (on the most part) It is about 6th on the pecking order of sports.

actually basketball are some of the worst athletes in this country. I played college basketball and football. The average vert for NBA basketball players is 29' and a lot of these guys are very skinny. In football the average is 35' with a lot bigger people who do not even train to jump.

Lebron James is the rare exception. The NFL has several 6'4+ receivers. These "beanpoles" make most NBA players look like twigs. You do not realize how big those guys are because you always see them against each other. In America football players are far and away the best players.

The US just needs to get Adu off of the team, and actually fill the spots with actual soccer players who can back up their playing time with actual talent.
