  • i think i heard this soundtrack in ask tgwtg lol

  • me gusto esa formacion pero para mi que no es para las guerras

  • the only good thing in this vid is the song.

  • thumbs up for moonlight sonata dude....

  • Dear iSorrowproductions. Thank you for not putting gay music. I'm serious. If I heard one of those gay, overplayed techno songs again I would've disliked the video.

  • i can play this on piano yay

  • @attykon WHAT THE HELL?!how? xD

  • @TehLamzaks Moonlight sonata is pretty easy compared to other Beethoven pieces...I learned how to play it from youtube lol... Moonlight sonata synthesia

  • Moonlight Sonata something something? XD

  • is it just me or did their flags look like the assassin's creed flags at the begining?

  • Qual o nome desse jogo mim responde por favor?

What is the name of this game please answer me

  • @kevyn724

    Rome Total War

  • What is music ?

  • @xxbartekex The Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven

  • SPARTAN, THE BATTLE IS THIS WAY!! 4:02 *Spartan* Sorry, but I'm to much of a Coward Bye!!

  • its rome total war

  • como hacen para tener ese ejercito :/

  • What is this game?

  • @kwoofs Call of Duty: Ancient Warfare

  • @kwoofs it's, shut the fuck up and read the title fuck face :)

  • game name?

  • @Banksfly rome total war

  • whats this music man

  • @tenirpaslager Moonlight Sonata

  • @JackOFBlades111 cheers :)

  • @tenirpaslager the phantom of the opera - manowar

  • Yeah I don't think cavarly would be too successful, I would get siege equipment since they are massed together so much, a shit load of archers or peltasts, and some cavarly just in case. But honestly in less you could have a great defensive position, this would be quite difficult to beat.

  • lol, this would be so easy to beat...You just need some cavalary to outpower his general and a bunch of skirmishers and archers&slingers...a phalanx without proper missle and/or cavalary protection is a dead phalanx...historically also.,just wiki "Battle of Lechaeum".

  • what game is this ?

  • @7ar15 rome total war

  • @7ar15 Thx :D

  • Why didn't the attacking army simply outflank the defending one? Those rear formations aren't doing anything. It could have completely enveloped them. On the other hand, the defenders could have deployed their forces as Hannibal did at Cannae, and caused the larger attacking force to be enveloped.

  • Well, you managed to get his general (which probably just means he was careless) and quickly turn the battle. Otherwise, it would have been a very drawn out battle with perhaps a different outcome; I noticed your second line of phalanx were "squeezing"/putting pressure on your own front line and that usually causes them to break much faster. If you hadn't gotten his gen, I wonder how long before they'd have broken.

  • did u use bethooven song or mozart ?

  • @deluxes000 It's Beethoven--The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C♯ minor "Quasi una fantasia," Op. 27, No. 2, or more commonly known as "The Moonlight Sonata."

  • @yohannbiimu thx

  • 20 groups of egyptian chariot arches = best possible army.

  • What's funny is this is pretty much how a lot of Greek armies actually fought.

  • A skirmish army would decimate that war machine.

  • oh yeah well... i can make an army of peasants charge into a huge line of phalanx units

  • Why do I have a feeling that didn't go well?

  • Great song! one of beethovens best.

    sorry for my spelling.

  • so many unused pike men in the middle. Swap them out for some archers or some arty

  • @Brendan1246 Nah, archers were pretty much useless against Hoplites. Onagers might've caused some damage, true, but then again, them hitting anything was pretyt much a gamble. And if you weren't lucky, you'd just have several units incapable of fighting back or contributing in any way. Better to have infantry all the way. Or cavalry, that could've worked.

  • @WebOnion oh yeah, cavalary against phlanax

  • @SuperMusicHero I didn't mean charging head on. Hitting the flanks or rear is a very efficient tactic, if it's done right. And just by moving your cavalry behind enemy lines might cause the enemy to react somehow, which would then open a gap somewhere.

  • @WebOnion Ah, I understand your point.

  • Love the Portal song xD

    Panem est mendax!!

(I'm aware that isn't conjugated properly)

  • Poor music.

  • it is easy to destroy greek troops just charge with 20 fully upgraded roman generals

  • Actually this is very beatable, especially with rome, there pilum would decimate your front line when used correctly and proceed to stomp your army from there. I've beaten a very good noob boxer who was using spartans , much better then your units and you have plenty of gaps in your line to exploit.

  • The greeks used this fromation just the falanx on the flanks wwould face their speras to the side and were flank resistant. So its very awsome formation, just it doesen't work in th game.

  • i cant watch

  • NICE YOU MADE A BOX! If your going to play Rome online, please don't sit in a box and wait for the enemy to come to you just to watch the massacre instead of, well you know....PLAYING THE GOD DAMNED GAME WITH TACTICS and honestly, If you find it fun to watch a box then you are a sad sad person

  • actually if you would send 2 elite hoplites from the side and make a bit busy the pikemen and send the cavalry inside that noobitos box on wheels they would rout and if not you would go from the other way from the front with cavalry again but yea it would work with diffrerent units too this is shit is not unstotable some strategy and you got them because they are in formation u know they will not leave that formation so u can play your own game

  • While your troops are committed to attacking the main line, a force of cavalry could easily destroy you. and in this video, your box is only used to advance on the enemy. from there, it breaks off into a line fighting a line. Not that impressive.

  • @spearadollar "noob box"- just a lame way to say you're too pathetic/lazy to actually fight it. It shouldn't matter what path you take to victory as long as you have some sort of strategy.

  • @Arvedui01 Except if you tried to do that in real life, the enemy would just wait you out until your troops fall asleep from fatigue or starve to death. It also allows the enemy to surround you and maneuver to better their own position.

  • i always atack phalanx from behind

  • against a massive square formation like that, heavy onagers are gonna hit and take out whole units at once. even if one flaming stone hit the front of that line 4+ units would instantly be wiped out.

  • this formation is nice to see for the eyes but a bit useless until cavalry

  • nice formation but if yur opponent had a cav..he could use it to charge to your flank during the battle..just my opinion..^__^

  • thumbs up if you muted at the beginning. :D

  • ohhh shit.....i would throw all my men at it....wat do i have to lose? lol

  • LOL skillet

  • the phalanx is totally outnumbered

  • Nice video but the Greek city's hoplites would fight a in long line and eventualy surround you. (Historically). But like i said nice video and cool formation.

  • If this was engaged head on, artillery on the rear phalanx. Cavalry would open up the center left & right positions and another squadron rear would cut the spine out of this.

The other guy has you're flank and rear the moment you're front phalanx touches his shields. Plus the formation breaks up too easily because there is no room for movement.

  • @Steve96461 that's som real strategy thinking

  • Am I the only one that see's a "free encirclement" here ?

  • @FTWDaan U realy are an idiot, not knowing that!

  • I like the song, it's heavy metal bitches.

  • @spearadollar i don't see any wheels.

  • y does ppl hate this

  • @mrtazzo1 because in a noob box you give up the initiative and let the enemy play with you. enemy can simply shoot at your dense formation and weaken the side , when you will have to break the noob box to reinforce the weak side or they can simply apply pressure on the weakened flank till either 1- your flank collapses or 2-you have to devote troops form other flank to reinforce it , which will eventually break the noob square and the advantage of it.

  • @sushanalone and thats not even considering the possibility of artillery. MY noob box would be essantially a gaint schiltron.. with a few catapaults in the centre.

  • STILL ALIVE !!!!!!!!!!!

  • how do u get that many men?? i mean other than having "reinforcements" cuz u cant even control them

  • Look up ancient battle tactics on the internet, that helps more than this

  • wa song is this?

  • There's one random way of destroying any phalanx line:

get 3-7 units of shock cavalry, group them so they units overlap each other and front charge on one phalanx unit. Lot of causalities but charged unit is annihilated and rest of the line is exposed to side attack.

  • lol 2:31

  • Without Cavalry, any number of soldiers and their formation is useless.. this formation can still be routed using the pratorean cavalry units, 5 units will be sufficient with couple of slingers.. but a nice interesting formation with flanks reserved!

  • The video was good until 2:32

  • Needle factories at war!

But yeah some proper tactics could probabaly win from this.

  • @FTWDaan hahaha you got owned

  • A lot of missile troops are needed to win this kinda battle.

  • ARCHERS !!!!

  • @FTWDaan yea with golden upgrades XD

  • give me archers!!!! and cavalry archers, i'm gonna pounce you!

  • @FTWDaan Cavalry would not be able to do anything against this in the long run if you didn't notice the side flanks of phalanx can deploy to face the attackers and breaking them instantaneous, using this strategy online usually ends in the opponent leaving

  • @iSorrowproductions ive tried this with romans and won 3 battles already no losses.. but then again i made some minor changes that include WAR DOGS :D its mixed it woth all the units and they never notice em. and when i unleash em on the archers they start freaking out lol

  • @iSorrowproductions

hm, romans would kikck ur phalanks bottom x) =P

not hard, basicly sending horses to theyr death can be a good thing, when i see that formation with phalanx i pretty butch send a light cavalry to the midle just to create a bit of panic, has u know, phalanx are either slow or vulnerable, getting cavalry to die = panic, then i would put some archers to spread more panic, after that its just a good charge to break the line and flank the busy phalanx =) and this works. done by me

  • @iSorrowproductions gave me 1 tank and i take out all your phalanx

  • @iSorrowproductions this "tactic" is actually very easy to beat. if that greek city state army was managed properly he could have won.

  • @iSorrowproductions the thing is the phalanx can only face 1 direction, if you attack the flank guard on 3 side taking advantage of the slow mobility, you can crush the phalanx and force the center to to reform to guard the side. by which time you would have withdraw the cavalry and move to attack from another direction.

this is why the phalanx was eventually abandoned, it work against noob but not skilled generals who know how to move his battle lines. mix army always beat single arms

  • @iSorrowproductions hit and run with cav on the flanks.

i will continue to do this until your "phalanx" splits and your men route.

    i win.

  • do you see any cav ??? NOOO

  • sandwich

  • actually this formation is preatty usefull defending important city states

  • is the machine broken? :s lol

  • Sorry, no offense, but totaly useless formation, I can tear it apart with 4 squads of cavalry. You never want phalanxes deployed so deep, especially on flank, they expose their whole side. A single cavalry charge into that and it will rout.

Otherwise nice video, I like the music choice too ;)

  • @Zamolxes77 im sorry but ur dumb as hell cuz then he can just make the spearman face ur charging cav and there go the 4 cav u been talking bout the best thing u can do is pick on spot and put all ur force into it hoping that the dude playing will be to slow to react or spam archers and onagers

  • Lol, noob-box.

  • Omg, RUN! Its a moving Phalanx/Noob-box! xp

  • First song, Had enough by Breaking Benjamin. Second Song Still Alive by The people who made the game Portal. Just use limewire and get them free.

  • actualy all of them are pikes xD put a heavy swords mans :P

  • @TheRockstarnation its not a square look at the pike mens they defend the left and right flank i think rear and front too xD

  • wht song is this

  • that army would be destroyed by missile units

  • @samcarr63 No it wouldn't. The missiles would run out of ammo far before even a quarter of this army would be taken out. Missile units are only useful in small money battles.

  • wat game or thing is that

  • @cjroxful its rome total war

  • Assassins flag
