The only ones that grow that large are of the genus scolopendra, of which I own 7 specimens of 5 different species. I have been bitten by them before and yes its not fun, but they are far from deadly. Also the only thing hospitals can do for you is painkillers, anti-inflamitories & rest, all of which can be done at home.

The only difference between this and dog or rooster fighting is that the animals are smaller and deemed of "less value" by humans.
