I hate the bass clarinet 32nd notes at the end. You can never hear them (at least in the recordings I have heard of this piece) so I don't understand the point of them being scored.

Our high school band attempted all five movements at State. It was very hard and long. This is an amazing musical score. Most high school ensembles don't have the musical integrity to make it happen. I guess it can be done. Our school had some moments that were good, but we had many problem areas as well.

the euphonium players really need to pick up the pace. i play the euph in the nj sussex county band. were playing this piece and i can honestly say. yes it is hard but such an important part needs to be brought out. a little practice goes along way

wow brass needs to pick it up on this one. I was the only euphonium in my band when we played this and its a very important part in the piece. in this one you could barely hear it. step up the the plate and play.

My band did this; we went pretty well except our bassoonist is crap. I was on clarinet; and when we got the the melody in "Shadowfax" the goddamn brass swallowed it up! >: (
