  • Unforgettable!

  • The blues bros did it well.

  • Frankie owns this song. Always has, always will. This is what we heard every week for the show Rawhide, and it still stands as the best version to me.

  • brings back long memeories

  • remember sing this song when we rode convoy int Nam

  • @rsakai5 I had the same thought about highway one. What a old memory.

  • frankie lane owns this song ,no one can sing this song like he does .just great .thank you for sharing .

  • How do you sing the good the bad and the ugly? What are the lyrics? I remember whistling and grunting. But wait, maybe this is a different memory.

  • @jtanistube lololololololol

  • Good music has no age limits and this one is a good song.

  • @MrGeekwithagun Got that right!

  • Great song :D

  • Not the original recording, unfortunately

  • @Strawberry7Lynn

    Still the best though.

  • @SanguinPenguin Depends which version you're accustomed to

  • @mccasper6068 I'm thirteen and I love these songs haha

  • I am only 40 but Frankie laine is so awesome i could listen to him all day

  • @mccasper6068 Only 40? :)

  • I love Frankie Laine! Powerful voice and the energy of an incredible interpreter! Nobody better than him in the western themes. Some of his pieces are pure jewels.

  • you.. yep... i know u know who u r

    !!!!!!!

  • @TheDiddlysquat I knew that something was missing in this song. I'm glad that you pointed it out. ( the bullships)

  • Frankie Laine was one of the most purest ballad singers of all time. I used to watch Rawhide when I was a child just to here the song. I appreaciate the person who uploaded this.

    techman722

  • why the fuck would you wanna end war mofo's Its the driving force of human evolution. It gives us our technology advances and it employe's the most people in the world. the military industrial complex must continue

  • Francesco Paolo LoVecchio (Frankie Laine) was a terrific singer, with a blues-influenced style. A lot of people don't know that he was very supportive during the civil rights era. For example, when Nat King Cole had his TV show in the early 50s, he was unable to get sponsors because of the prevailing racism of the times. Frankie was the first white artist to appear on Cole's show, and other prominent white performers soon followed.

  • excellent, thanks for sharing

  • I like the blues brothers better :P

  • What is "fucks sake"?

  • Great World Peace Song????? This show was pretty violent. Each week somebody got killed. Peace I don't think so.

  • @buzzbombish There is no mention of violence in this song! The TV program was very mild compared to the junk they show nowadays! Can't you just enjoy it for what it is? A song.

  • Use it as your ringtone, I do, and it gets some good reactions when others hear it, good luck, Ernie

  • This is a example of good music.

  • I remember watching the weekly rawhide movie and listening to frankie laine....

  • I remembber watching this movie and listening to frankie laine....

  • よく高校学園祭レココンで掛かってたな Uh??

  • i remember this song from the movie the blues brothers..

  • Is this the original one??????

  • Rowdy Yates! Rawhide!

  • It was Clint Eastwood's 1st appearance in a big TV series, wasn't it?

  • @petereuropa

His first appearance as a regular on a TV show, yes. Wonder whatever happened to him ???

  • @JubalCalif Yes, I must ask a friend. His name is Harry Callaghan. He might know what happened to C. Eastwood.

Anyway, my father bought some EP with Frankie Lane when I was a little boy. He has/had a fantastic voice. Listen also on YT to his version of 'Drill ye tarriers drill'. That's a good performance - and tells a piece of American history too.

  • @petereuropa

Ha! Ol' "Dirty Harry" Callaghan (long retired from the San Francisco Police Dept; disability from chronic hangnail) should definitely know what happened to Cliint! Thanks for the "heads up" in regards to Frankie's "Drill ye tarriers" here at yt! I will surely give it a listen! Loved your comments....hope you have a TERRIFIC weekend! :)

  • @petereuropa

Clint Eastwood's first appearance on a television show was actually on 'Cheyenne' not Rawhide.

  • @SouleymaneG Nice to know. He is one of my favourite actors. But Callaghan and Clint Eastwood are not the same persons. Named "Dirty Harry" is a real person just like Sherlok Holmes is.

Anyway, I'm joking of course, but I must say Clint's acting as Dirty Harry is so fenomenal, my opinion, that I see Harold Callagham as a real person. I can see those Dirty Harry films over and over again. Ánd also Frankie Laine's voice is fab & unique.

  • Frank alsoappeared in an episode of Rawhile called, "Incident on the Road to Yesterday" with his wife Nan.

  • Such a great song. Best version

  • @panlemans

I second that emotion! One of the all time great TV theme songs....a rousing song sung by a powerful voice! Perfect for an epic Western TV show like this!

  • RIP frankie

  • I likes me my rawhide. Thanks Frankie. Always. Cut 'em out, etc.

  • Super!!!!!

  • this is much better than the blue brothers wooooooooooo

  • jojojo!!! copado!!

  • great song great voice

  • I have an album of Frankie Western tunes, love it!

  • he's my grandma's cousion

  • You appear to lack a working knowledge of adjectives Victoria. Get a good English language book, you'll find that there are plenty of better and more expressive ones than those you use; you would be able to express yourself in a more dignified way. The ones you use are usually used by spotty, foul mouthed teenagers who don't know any better.

  • haha sick song!! gives me chills

  • I am proud to say, I went to the same high school as Frankie (only many years later)...the high school in Chicago is called Lane Tech. When Frankie started his singing career, he took the name from his high school and added an "i" thus Frankie Laine. He's a heck of a singer!

  • Frankie Laine was one hell of a singer! You can almost taste the prairie dust.

  • @larrydonguy he's related to my grandma he a nice guy to and hes a badass singer

  • @zashelbs I knew that Frankie was a terrific singer from listening to my parents' LP's of him back in the 60's. It's only in the last few years that I've learned what a terrific man he was. If you haven't already done so and want to see and hear him at his best check out the you-tube clips of him on the Frank Sinatra show with Frank and Perry Como (early 50's) and singing Jezebel from a mid 50's TV show.

  • sta je ovo predobro bokte

  • No voices like his in todays so-called country music.

  • @LynInOrlando

Frankie sang more than cowboy songs, he sang the music of his time and did it magnificently. Frankie sang everything so earnestly, that's what made his songs work.

  • Don't try to understand em, just rope em, throw and brand em.....

  • The Best

  • xD bought his LP today o_0

    nostalgia :)

  • Love it brings back fond memories

  • We could start a movement. Get the whole world singing Rawhide and it would end war, strife and global warming. Worth a try.

  • Pompus. >:I

  • @jtanistube how would a song end global warming?

  • @jtanistube When my class ganged up on our summer school teacher with the good the bad and ugly theme because there was like 60 of us in one classroom and she would not open the door or windows (and the summer heat of the days were like high 80's) or let us go to the bathroom, we'd just stomp on the floor and keep singing it at the top of our lungs until she'd got embarrassed into being humane by getting yelled at by the other teacher below to give in to our demands

  • @jtanistube Send me an e-mail when you're ready, and I'll be right there by your side singing..."move 'em on, head 'em up, head 'em up, move 'em on..."

  • This is the best western song ever. Period. I defy you to not sing along or pound your fists against your thighs. Cut 'em out ride em in. Yeah!!

  • doin just that! YEEEEEEHAW!

  • Ghost riders...at least in my opinion.

  • Answering comment of mine below ... was for the attention to ... TheJetfighter666...

Great sound that still is full of energy ... :-)

    5stars

  • This was one of my favorite western shows and the title song was by one of the best singers EVER!!!!! TenStarsplus !!! I'm a retired hourly worker from GM and I can't understand what the earlier comments have to do with a TV western series!!!!!!! Could someone please explain ??!!!!! Thank you!!

  • Bigduck: As usual, many of the YT comments have little to do with the video. It is just a way people express themselves, right or wrong, on the wrong venue. I just take it with a grain of salt and ignore it unless the person is being a bully at which point I call them on it. I have to somewhat agree with one of the previous comments but am not focusing on it. I guess that attitude just comes with age. I also enjoyed the show/song. I wish it was on tv now.

  • got this single on phillips mini groove 1959....

    great song

  • Convert it to MP3 and i will have a copy dude

  • Jeeezzzz...Why can't there be peace in the valley?

It's about the music. Go argue other issues someplace else.

  • Just enjoy the music, please, as it is so good.

  • My fav. young age pictures was Bonanza ... was inlove with Ricky...what can I say... time floats.... haaaa... Tks. Mate for bringing back those matine times

  • @laggie24 Do you mean little Joe??...I was in love with Hoss !!!

  • Hoss and little Joe were on Bonanza, which can be seen on Nick or tvworld on some nights, at least on my cable system

  • Yeep... I just couldn't get my tiny eyes off Little Joe... TG ya picked another guy... cause now we could begin a fight on who's was it 1st ....haaa ...thank-you dear for taking ya time to switch to my comment.... all the best from Budapest ...laggie24

  • @TheJetfighter666 Yeah, but Hop Sing could cook.

  • amen to that victoria0000... you are abso-fuckin-lutely right!!!!

  • @victoria0000 Stop using obscene swear words on here!

  • @victoria0000: Damn straight!

  • @victoria0000 That's RIGHT, but how about saying it without "f***s"??!!! Gheorghij

  • Wow how did I make you so angry

  • I love it!!!

All we have to do is apply it to Washington DC.....all of them!!!!

  • I just wanted to hear the music. Then I read a few comments.

So are you guys "hourly workers", hoping to pay back a student loan??

Don't bother to reply, it's just a whimsy sort of joke.

    :-)

  • my name is james "n9no" brugato and frankie lane is my great great cousin check me out right here on youtube just do a search for n9no brugato and you can hear a third generation powerful voice

  • leuk fimpje maar je kunt beter bij "en ze blijft maar vragen "kijken geniaal gevonden

  • The voice, tempo and background music were just perfect. As big as all outdoors. Nobody but Frankie Laine could sing like that.

  • I love this tune....and by the way,we need to take our country back!!!!

  • Where are you from...What nationality?

  • Born in Scotland, raised in America from the age of 6 months.

  • So which country do you want back and who from?

  • In a nut shell...the same tyrannical government is upon us as in the colonial days.I am not proud of America right now,but I believe patriotic Americans will rise up against Facism. I want back at least the America I grew up in and the government is supposed to work for us.I know it is a pipedream...So who are you?

  • Do you object to Obama? Do you consider him a fascist? You are Scottish what's yer beef...Aberdeen Angus I believe...The United States was stolen from Native Amarica by the likes of us...Enjoy your freedom and give thanks that you live in such an amazing land...I'm in the UK by the way

  • The united states could have very well been formed through agreements and alliances. The only reason that the Native Americans "needed" to be run off was because American colonists were heavily influenced by the British voting system, which required people to own a certain amount of land in order to be able to vote. This caused American colonists to put too much value on land "ownership", which created problems when they encountered a people with no concept of owning the land.

  • @GigasGMX im going to argue about somthing no one gives a shit about

  • @GigasGMX Thank you for the insight here, though it has little to do with the song, and fantastic singer! I have a Mother of Cherokee heritage, and it helps to know how and why.Knowledge is power.

My Grandma really adored Frankie Lane, and even saw him live before she passed away.

  • Getmynut you are right. Our kids have a $300,000 bill to pay just in interest from mismanagement. We pulled the first facist move ever with the government purchase of a Chrysler.Obama hired an underground weatherman for his economic decisions. He loved facist professors in college. The radical Reverend Wright was his guiding light. His political career was launced by Bill Ayers the unrepentent bomber who got off on a technicality. We are waking up though, it will take years to undo the damage.

  • Actually, I must correct you here. Firstly, the government restructuring of Chrysler was minor compared to the government purchase you're probably thinking of, GM.

Second, the bailout of American automakers was more socialist than it was corporatist. Since corporatism is the economic system of fascism, and since fascists are decidedly opposed to socialism, it is decidedly incorrect to identify the bailout as fascist.

  • Eindelijk op dvd in nederland.

    Geweldige serie.

  • thnx now i can sut me mum up

lol not a bad song thnx again

  • Where are the whips? The TV version had these humungous whiplashes after every YEAHH! Great wedding tune.

  • My stepdad's love for Western is to thank for me remembering this song. c:

I wish more people my age appreciated tunes like this.

  • His voice and style paint a very vivid picture of what the lyrics delineate

  • Just imagining a young Ralph Fiennes jumping in front of his family and singing this song!:))

  • even better..........ralph fiennes dressed up in his role as the evil concentration camp commandant Amon Goeth (remember shindlers list ? ). Just think of it , an evil member of the Nazi SS getting in front of his family and singing this ???

     Bizarre , weird , or funny ??

  • lets oput it together in a clip

  • Once learned never forgotten. I fully agree, Ihave this as my ringtone, cheers,Ernie

  • When Mitch Miller asked Frankie to sing his first western type song, Frankie told him that was something he didn't want to do because he didn't think he had the type of voice to do them well. Boy was he wrong about himself!

  • Mel Brooks also asked Frankie to sing the theme song for "Blazing Saddles".

Frankie didn't realize that Blazing Saddles was a sendup of westerns, so he gave it his all!

  • 1950-1970 the golden age of american tv

  • I so agreee....now lets get our country back.

  • I'm a total Metal Head, but i <3 this song, such a classic

  • fantastic

  • Frankie Lane - is very under rated or rather overlooked for what he done for black music - apart from his humane side - what a voice
