If Abbott was white and made this statement she'd be straight out the door. I can not understand why black people keep referring back to 19th Century European Colonialism, haven't we moved on from this? Diane Abbott was the first black woman in Parliament she has abused this position and incited racial hatred on more than one occasion. With her latest comment she has just widened the gap between communities, and therefore I hope Milliband gets it right and Sacks her! For the record i'm no racist but I believe we should all play by the same rules just stating my opinion

Diane Abbott should be sacked!!! This is not a slip of the tongue comment this shows her true feelings. If it is not a racist comment saying 'white people love playing divide and rule, we should not play there game' I don't know what is. She has targeted the white community and made a generalization. She's completely contradicting herself, can't believe she's getting away with it. In her tweet she says "white people love to divide and rule (present tense), its a tactic as old as colonialism". In other words ,white people are still doing it, yes? Now she's saying "oh I only meant in the colonial days". Erm obviously it isn't what she meant is it, what does she take us for? People in this country are so sensitive be it white or black , the fact she made that comment she is only speaking the truth and many of the black community agree with views, she expressing her mind and views just like every other person , Asian people in this country are racist and get away with murder when they speak out so why shouldn a black person speak thier mind be it a politician or not.
