Goldwings are fine on good dirt but: 1) they get shaken to bits if there are any rocks at all and 2) will sink into the ground so badly on anything soft that it feels like the bike is on rails. Fantastic for road touring though. Once my partner got used to riding bikes I sold my wing and got her one of these F800GSs to go with my existing R1200GS, it opened up our options tremendously. Made our trips much more enjoyable. But I do miss the Wing on those open stretches of highway.
Hmmm . . . looks like a road to me, like many I've ridden my Goldwing on, maybe not quite as fast. Let's see it on a real trail!
