I'm sure if they had different physical gifts they'd adjust their games accordingly and learn to play differently. Physical gifts have to be synchronized with actual skill and athletic talent.
Elton Brand was great player but he got hurt, like a lot of young talents. But I'm still dazzled by the fact that Chicago gave him away so easy. He and Ron artest really could have been something. Glad that bulls are back on track again but man, this is missed opportunity.

EB was a beast. He's still pretty good, but he doesn't get uch props because he's on a bad team. I don't think he'll ever be what he was once, but it would be a nice story if he could recover the magic he had with LA.

Remember when Elton Brand was a Chicago Bull as a rookie and 2nd yr player. He was awesome, putting up great numbers and doing super plays as a young player against likes of Shaq (in his prime), Karl Malone, KG (prime), TD (Prime), and Chris Webber (prime), etc. Yes those veterans got some on him as well but if Bulls never traded this guy he could have been a Bull4life and had his career end up better than what it is now.

@takeit2thecourtmang I don't think he passed his prime, he is only 31. Brand just doesn't want to play anymore. Brand was a solid PF, but he relied a lot of pounding the ball in during the post up. He had a mid range jumpshot, but he didn't have much ball handling skills, and was a little slow. He is slower than Tim Duncan noticeably. If he could work on his ball handling, speed, and combine them with the jumpshot, I think he could of been much better overall player offensively.

oh yeah I also forgot to mention Elton Brand suffered a huge Achilles tendon injury, which has taken away his past explosiveness. Thats a crucial part to why he isn't playing as well as he used to.
Btw, everybody has written him off in Philly but he's starting to play better now (granted, it was against the Bobcats and Memphis). He can still hit the jumper. He may not be the same athlete he once was, but the shot is still there.

Elton Brand could work on his ball handling skills, and drive to the basket to supplement his physical post up player, and mid range jumper. Heck even work on three point shooting. Elton Brand isn't very fast either. While he is not terribly slow, he isn't very fast either especially for his size. He's slower than Karl Malone was.

I dont believe that, I think we just used him wrong. Mo wanted to make him the main scoring option which ruined our fast break, if we could almost relegate him to a role player who gets the inside baskets when needed and grabs boards that would maximize his talents
We should have gone for Josh Smith who is younger and matches our system far better. Hard nosed defender and a transition scorer. Brand wants to run half court plays every time up the floor, and since we have no range there's nothing to make teams pay for doubling Brand. The Sixers will probably need to trade him next season when the team starts to break apart next season, which is more likely to happen than not when Brand returns.

This deal would work for both sides cuz chicago would get a solid bigman in elton who averages 20 points and 10 rebounds per a game. In my opinion Elton Brand should have stayed with the clippers. The Clippers finally moved to accuire a team around Brand. First, they get Baron Davis to sign with team. Second, they got a decent scorer from the draft (Gordon). Now if Brand signed back Corey Maggette* would also signed with the Clippers. but i get sad when i see undersized players especially power forwards like elton,maxiel,chuck hayes....and i think if only they worked on their outside game maybe they could play the small forward-that's why i think NBA power forwards shouldn't be shorter than 6'9 and centers at 6'10 because it's hard for them to score i the paint with the big guys guarding them

true but still they get blocked easily,and to be strong enough for the bigs they need to more weight so they mostly loose their quickness and athleticism,elton had the luck not to loose it and maxiel is naturally strong as fuck but shoots bricks

@Slamwoo93 6'8" is fine, the problem is Elton Brand relies on posting up, and using his strength. Elton Brand could work on his ball handling skills, and drive to the basket to supplement his physical post up player, and mid range jumper. Heck even work on three point shooting. Elton Brand isn't very fast either. While he is not terribly slow, he isn't very fast either especially for his size. He's slower than Karl Malone was.

I dont believe that, I think we just used him wrong. Mo wanted to make him the main scoring option which ruined our fast break, if we could almost relegate him to a role player who gets the inside baskets when needed and grabs boards that would maximize his talents

We should have gone for Josh Smith who is younger and matches our system far better. Hard nosed defender and a transition scorer. Brand wants to run half court plays every time up the floor, and since we have no range there's nothing to make teams pay for doubling Brand. The Sixers will probably need to trade him next season when the team starts to break apart next season, which is more likely to happen than not when Brand returns.

This deal would work for both sides cuz chicago would get a solid bigman in elton who averages 20 points and 10 rebounds per a game. Sixers would get devoted pg in captain kirk to replace aging andre miller and his big contract. Phillie would also get anonther playa in tyrus thomas to add to their young nucleus consistn of both sammie and iggy.

There are rumours that the bulls are interested in bringin elton brand back 2 Chicago. The sixers are clearly dissapointed in elton's performance and recent injury. If a deal does take place between phillie and chicago it will happen in the 2009 offseason. The deal would invlove elton goin 2 Chicago and both kirk hinrich and young prospect Tyrus thomas goin to phillie.

camby was a big steal, and im a nuggets fan, and i love camby but we got a lot of money from it, and I love watching philly games, fun to watch, and yes camby is no brand but they both bring something different to the table, Camby great great defense, Elton Low post threat and what-not. Clippers being in the hard west, they might not make it but as of now they will unless the poor teams improve (nuggets, portland, etc). And 76ers are in the east and in the east Anything is Possible.

In my opinion Elton Brand should have stayed with the clippers. The Clippers finally moved to accuire a team around Brand. First, they get Baron Davis to sign with team. Second, they got a decent scorer from the draft (Gordon). Now if Brand signed back Corey Maggette* would also signed with the Clippers. Maggette, Mobley, Davis, Gordon, Kaman, and Brand would be a powerful team.
Brand chose Sixers because they have some expierence in playoffs, it is eaiser to get a spot in the East and money.
