I Kiss and there music, but I didn't worship them. But Paul and Gene seem more arrogant than Dee. Ace and Peter were cool. Anyhow, it's about making good sincere music and they both achieved that.

My favorite band's KISS, but Twisted Sister are kicking ass too. I've never consider KISS a glam rock band. Glam rock is represented by Bowie, T-Rex, Gary Glitter, etc. KISS certainly took influences from those bands, specially for the look, but they were much more heavy, in the same way as Sabbath, Zeppelin and all the early metal bands from the late 60's and early 70's. I consider KISS as the first glam metal band, because like I said, they combine the glam rock look with metal music.

maybe they came out like you say ,,i remember in the 70's and twisted sister wasn't even heard of until their famous album later in the 80's,,like dee says , everybody liked kiss and tried to immitate them in any way ,,kiss was inspired by alice cooper & the beatles -Zep- the who ..but kiss in the 70's were pioneers and did their own thing & took shit for it and opened the doors for everybody else to follow later on ..kiss is one of the most worldwide influential bands of all time,,

You forgott to meantion Slade as an influence on KISS, Gene and Paul have often said they went to all Slades shows in New York and that they wanned to do the same as Slade did american style.

I had heard of the Wicked Lester rumor back then. Twisted was compared to Kiss all the time because the people comparing had nothing else to say about what they couldn't understand. Twisted was great before the Stay Hungry singles. A couple great tunes on that record but not "Were Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock"

Yes Ace was funny but in a sad way cos he was mostly drunk or hopped up when on interview. His behavior was more psychotic than anything.

JJ wasn't likely "in" Wicked Lester. The story he tells is a great tale, but never happened. It's possible he auditioned for Wicked Lester, the name Gene, Paul and Peter used while auditioning guitarists, not to be confused with the band that recorded the demos in 1971-72. Thing is, no one in KISS seems to remember him. I tend to think JJ probably did audition but it didn't go very far. Note Dee deosn't go so far as to say it's fact, just one of JJ's "claims to fame." Just my take on it.
