  • Hey Tex, just want to say this two part film really inspired me(A little more than the rest of your work does). The mesh between the music and the image really was beautifully done. Seriously you have great editing skills.

  • Are you using LANDSAT for mars?

  • TransX you confuse me!!! =[

  • all i want is a delta glider with tons of fuel

  • Looked two your parts. Magnificent work the master!

  • Thanks for the nice video. I just watched the moon tutorial on orbiter and I wanted to lear nhow it would be to plan a trip to Mars. Your video gave me the idea. Tks

I also know how diff it is to capture the sequences and edit with audio and still get a reasonable good quality. A simple animation of 9 secs of laser sabers took me 5 hours - 2 on video and 3 on audio ;-)

  • how do you get into a space suit and walk around please reply?

  • where or how can i get this overview of the solar-system at the beginning? i cant find it. is it in orbiter?

  • simply awesome! You are a legend, and obviously highly skilled in orbiter.

  • This gives me hope we will one day really reach Mars :)

  • @Alfapiomega We will, Nasa have just released details on there new heavy lift rocket that will land Astronauts on Mars and Asteroids :)

  • you should be an astronaut really no joke

  • Nice. The closest I ever got to this was a mission to the moon. I didn't even land then, I just used the gravity of said moon to sling me back to Earth.

  • soo awesome! :D

  • Since i was 6, i all ways wanted to be an astronaught... I'm 13 now, and still want to! This simulator just makes me want to be one more, and less. More that the experience will be like nothing on earth, and less that the fact that you stay away from earth, family and friends for a long period of time. And also that this looks majorly complex... But i'm going to have a go :D

  • im thinking of getting this game and i have a few questions:

    1) how long does it take to get from earth to mars-in the game

    2) are there bases on other planets

    3) could you launch a shuttle from a larger ship-like in avatar

  • @milltiaryman001 1) If you're talking about the learning curve, no time soon. If you're talking about game time, 3-9 months depending on how fuel efficient you are. If you're talking about real time, an hour or so with time acceleration.

    2) Yes, but usually only one or two. You can dowload addon bases at orbithangar.

    3) Not to my knowledge; that would be an awesome addon! (You can launch the shuttle normally in the base game.

You can download this simulator by googling "orbiter." First link

  • @CubesForAKid when i download an addon i run it then it says "terminating after critical error"

  • @milltiaryman001

Then delete that addon and reinstall.

  • @CubesForAKid reinstall the addon or orbiter?

  • @milltiaryman001 Addon

  • @CubesForAKid thanks for the help

  • Really great job putting this flight together in an artistic fashion. Gives the viewer a real sense of actually going along for the ride on a real trip to Mars.

  • best movie

  • amazing stuff

  • amazing movie! aerobrake mfd is a nice tool, i always use it for reentries, and it works everytime

  • amazing movie!

  • man nice textures

  • Mars airbrake is impressive !!!! I think it's a complicated manoeuvre and there are a lot of skills needed to do that !!

  • Great Movie, really like it!

  • The first man to ever land on Mars, the mars rovers made those buildings and such. "You may now unbuckle your seatbelts and thank you for flying with Air Mars."

  • exelent

  • hey not to bug u but...where did u get the delta glider IV and how did u make that guy walk ??? pwiss pwiss T.T

  • That was the best video ive seen on youtube in a very long time

  • Oh WOW. Did you just use Mars' atmosphere to air-brake before going into orbit? now THATS ballsy. I'd burn up.

  • Wow this is amazing I don't even know how to aline my course to the moon in apollo 11 =/

  • Brilliant! I enjoyed every part of your movie, because it looks fine when you use alot of onboard controllers, and your trajectories on orbits were found quickly and precisly - it can bee seen that you understand Orbiter very well. I hope you will make some more movies in Orbiter.

  • Awesome movie and great flying! Now I must re-install Orbiter again and spend hours and hours with the manuals thanks to you :-)

  • Good film))

    and music)

    What the song?

  • two questions.

1:where do you get that spacecraft???

2:how do you eject from earth???

great vids.both one and two are great!!!!!!!!!

  • excellent video

  • Hey man, great video! Inspired me to try my hand at orbiter - and now, a week later I've made my first Earth to Mars transfer.

That aerobrake is really slick. I'll have to try that, since I'm using a Hohmann and still eating about 80% of my fuel.

  • how do you do EVAs?

  • @venera13studios

you need an addon for that

  • hi TexFilms. absolutly love the video and all the diting you put into it. could you tell me the link of where you got the mars atmosphere from what the addons bit says. and what editing software did you use (windows movie maker, sony vegas. etc.)

  • oooooh mars walk !! awesome

  • you must have studied aerospace or some thing

  • how many times you tried this journey ?? till you could do it so good?

  • What are the songs you used?

  • Good work !!! 5*

  • I did't use the Trans X mfd, if you can make a tutorial pls

  • Are you using Transfer MFD, or IMFD?

  • Trans X MFD, watch de end of the vid

  • I was talking to Merdaporrenta - sorry about the misunderstanding.

  • Great vid! But where do you get Earth & Mars L10? I looked on OH, but it's not there...

  • An Amazing Film. The music score was perfect!

  • 3 Months in a cramped DGIV no thanks!

I curently use IMFD for my interplanetary flights. At this moment in time I'm planning to do a FreeReturn to the moon and back and film it all.

  • Ah yes, but the DGIV is not as slow to respond as massive ships. xD

  • @TexFilms

try doing that with a XR 5 Vanguard

that thing chews up few like crackers

  • @MPKX 3 Months in the DGIV, hey compare that to the Apollo Capsules, in zero g there would be quite a lot of space to use in a DGIV. Like you though is use IMFD as well, but i want to learn how to use the other ones that come with Orbiter.

  • very good landing 5/5

    XD

  • good work dude

  • Cheers!

  • Another awesome film tex! Although I don't use Orbiter anymore I could never fully understand how to use transx anyone who can manage should be congratulated! Btw, where do you get your music from? The music for most of your films is really good!

  • Thanks for watching. There are some good video tutorials out for transx now. You can find them on Orbiter-Forum.

Most of my music are movie soundtracks. Popular artists include Hans Zimmer and James Horner.

  • @TexFilms what is the soundtrack called?

  • Oh my God! I still can't believe that someone made such a great movie... Really incredible, I'm great Orbiter fun, but still I think that you're a real master in electing the best music to your movies, this is one of your best, next to Apollo 11 :).

    Keep it up!

  • Wow, thanks Tomoesopo! I'm not sure this one is close to Apollo 11, but I greatly appreciate the comment and thanks for watching!

  • What music is this?

  • Its from the "Dust".

  • What sim is this because I have a mssive hard on for it now. =) nice video.

  • haha, be careful where you point that thing! Google Orbiter Space Flight Simulator.

    Thanks for watching.

  • Any specific place I may buy or download it?

  • Google: "Orbiter Space Flight Simulator" - it's a free sim.

  • Aerocapture was nice!

  • Hey mate, thanks!

  • the begging was a screensaver! lol

  • Excellent again!! 5 million/5.

I even got a bit tense during the aero braking!!

    Have fun all,

    Brian :)

  • Sweet! Thanks for watching as always mate. :)

  • like i say in part 1 perfect!!!

any problem when you try to enter mars?

    seems...

    keep up men!!

  • Thanks fabio

  • WOW i enjoyed that very much! Great music and great editing awesome stuff :)

  • Thanks as always rumbleforce! :)

  • awesome!

was the landing strip hard to find?

    and what sim is that

  • Thanks. It's not hard if you use the MFD's. The sim is called Orbiter Space Flight Simulator, google it and you will find it on top.

  • nice use of music

  • Awesome, Tex!

  • Thanks Abanoub!

  • Got my blood pumping... Awesome!

  • Awesome! For me too flying it. :D

    Thanks for watching!
