did you know a couple in Sweden has stolen this video PLUS music advertising clicker training and book for $49.95. you are not listed as original owner of this video/training method/etc. it does call it "mirror method" then goes on to recommend Supertraining via clicker. A 3 és fél éves Hanga kislányom már kb 30-adszorra nézeti végig velem a klippet. Az első kb 25 alkalom marhájul tetszett nekem is, de már kezd uncsi lenni: ). Hangának viszont töretlenül ez a kedvence, a karácsonyi kutyusaitokat is meg kellett már néznem vagy 25-ször, az is nagyon bejön , de ez a nyári messze ver mindent.

This is a great video, but I do have a question. You call the training method "mirror method". Doing some looking into that term (as a behaviorist and trainer)...isn't that just another term for "shaping"? But I will say that this is a well done video. :)

@girlofgodscountry Sure, shaping and clicker training is part of Mirror Method. For teaching we definitely use clicker. But the other parts of the method cover also how to interact with your dog in non training situations. The fact that we do not have aggression between unaltered dogs and they are willing to work in extreme situations are mostly coming from these other parts. This is not rocket science and for most dogtrainers these things would seem trivial.

@girlofgodscountry The real value is that we can now effectively communicate these ideas and values to all the people in our school. Clicker training and shaping is general (I mean I can clicker train a chicken, cat etc. using the same principles), however clicker training does not use the "dogginess" of our dogs. We can achieve more if we use also things that come with dogs by default (drives, communication skills and the fine tuned social bound to people).
