  • 1:25 LMAO, Super drafter!! How is this "fair" comp??

  • I am just getting into CX this year, and I am building my own bike right now. It is a big brand name bike, and i am not sure what type of shoe and pedals to get. Any ideas? thnx

  • @pdp110 I am not actually an expert in riding CX but I think most racers use an egg beater type of clip that is very forgiving of mud. You want a shoe you can run in of course. I'd definitely consult some local racers and you might want to have your cleats professionally fitted (it can really make a difference on your knees). Good luck!

  • Cyclocross on a mtn bike is not cyclocross...

  • i would love to do cyclocross but i dont want to hurt my balls with that flying mount

  • @DopeEd you supposed to land on the inner-leg thigh then scoot over to position.

  • I never heard of cyclocross till today. Can someone explain, what's up with the parts where they have to carry the bikes?

  • @shininghours - It all boils down to the CX origin. It all started in Belgium, get from point A to point B on a bike, over any surface presented by the route you choose. Dismounting, mounting, bunny hopping, sandpits, mud pits, it's all part of CXing.

  • Who is the kid in the mud and the SkidLid? Is that photo from Surf City circa 1980-1983?

  • Amazing thank you

  • Oma Yang made the music.

  • Orderd this for christmas. Looks cool , can`t wait. Anyone know the music?

  • Very nice!

  • I am new to this sport. So why to they make all races an hour long?

  • Some races are 45 minutes and some are a set amount of laps. It really depends on the race organizer and category of racers.

  • can you use a mountain bike, or is it better to use a road bike with knobby tires?

  • Most courses give an advantage to a cx bike because at least a 1/3 of the course is on pavement but many beginners start out on mountain bikes and do just fine that way (until they are hooked).

  • i have a single speed 70's le tour...

    cani use that for cyclo?

  • Many of the Cyclocross races include a single speed and/or open category. At the crosscrusade in Portland, Oregon, I've seen racers on BMX, mini-bikes, and tall bikes.

Personally, I'd want some gears. But it's better to use what you have until you know what you need/want.

  • I used a '70's Le Tour this past season to try cross for the first time, at 58, and it was ok but heavy. I bought a leftover Ridley frame to build up for the '10 season.... the whole thing is a blast.....

  • So cool to see Laurence Malone and the 70's and 80's era cyclocross guys. Great work!

  • Seeing this, i wished i was young again! i did a lot of riding then but had not the means to do it properly in competion. Great sport anyway!

  • Beautiful

  • I want to go race cross now

  • Man, I wanna do cyclocross so bad but I still have to convince my parents to let me do it.

  • tell them it will keep you away from drugs......but it could lead to drugs. ha

  • sweet vid u might want to join my Cyclocross group just search for cyclocross in groups

  • I am too much of a wuss to ride a road bike on a trail... lol. I guess I'll stick to XC.

  • true about getting hooked most people dont realize how much enjoyment you get until they try it

  • those guys are true badasses.

  • nice!

  • This is so great! I love this video.
