what Sagan wrote about civilization where all the processes that go on almost seem magical because of our lack of understand of how they work is spot on, in the book Earth Abides humanity is wiped out except for a few survivors, and their children grow up not having any understanding of how the world works and concoct some woo woo ideas about even the simplest science, I reccomend that book to anybody!
