@GEARHEADGUY92 Cone area means less to the bottom-end of your frequency response than enclosure design and amplifier current, especially when you're talking SQ setups. SQ is about neutral sound response (no humps or dips in the response curve, or at least as few as possible) and extending as deep into low frequencies as possible. When you make a box louder at 30-50hz you kill your lowest-end response, as well as potentially building a box that causes phase lag in the woofer. Real talk. :p

@GEARHEADGUY92 A properly set up 8 with the right kind of clean power has EPIC bottom end.. You've obviously never heard an 8w7 in action. The 13.5 is a slower woofer due to more moving mass, it makes for diaphragm delay which is the hallmark of 'sloppy sounding bass'. The 8 has much lower moving mass which will make it snappier in a SQ application.
An 'ideal' SQ situation would be multiple, large-diaphragm, low-excursion woofers to increase linearity, but that's not going to happen in a car.

But i still need to swap the battery under the hood
tune the box to fit your car own resonant frekvency(google your car brand and you can find what hz that gives most dB), make sure that you batteries is giving all the power the amp needs... also you have to place the box right... the list is endless but these are critical points that maby helps...

131 is about 100 times less loud than 150 db. its a log scale so to go up 10 db you need to be 10 times as loud.

yeah i had power acoustik i thought it was the shit until i upgraded to kicker but ive heard many good things about the mofo because at one point i was tryin to buy 2 of em but the box i needed for them to hit the hardest was to big for my trunk but i heard there loud but i havent heard one in person

bad idea. massive audio dmx are pretty cheap. also image dynamics idg series are way better at 239 a piece for the 15 inch model. at 900 peak the image dynamics will crumble 2600 watts. 2600 doesnt mean louder just more power. image idgs are more money for a reason.fuck jl audio.

it really comes down to really not just listening to whats hot. it just takes trying every thing that works.list of amps:pg ms series,rockford punch,us, hifonics,mmats,kove,ppi(all old and affordable) then get some loud subs. the ones i have just go good together. i turned it up and holy shit its time for another video soon!

i have a 2000watt 1 ohm old zeus amp that i am tryin to setup with some massive dmx 15 inch subs. are the kicker subs as good as i have been hearing. i have the pioneer spl series with massive cw12 series in my car. pioneer holds all world titles right now. go figure the first to break 180 legal on the dash

I mean shit for the money i spent on the component speakers and the dub 7s I could have had a bad ass spl set up but fuck that.. shit gets annoying after the 1st week. I had a buddy of mine that ran a solo x 18 kicker he got rid of it because well... it was annoying!

yeah dude i was just busting your balls. jl is good high end stuff. they are the best subs for crisp whomping bass, not big boom. my shit booms like thunder and lightning. if ui had the money i would get boston g5s with passive radiators. they are much nicer and cheaper than jl audio.just way over priced(jl). it sounds like you cant get the jl taste out of your mouth.lol. to much distortion still though. maybe get a better video.

well i bought my jl stuff from ebay for about 250 for each dub 7 the only that i bought from a store was the jl 1000/1 amp. yeah i dont know why but i love te way it sounds for some reason(jl) even tough they are overpriced if u buy retail

Alpine type R or X's would kick their ass, for sound and price.
And as far as Sq with a Type R and w7
For the money you're going to ha ve to put into for powering two W7's correctly, and for the subs w=themselfs, you could jsut get better this that will hit harder for same dman price.
