  • thnks 4 uploading such a masterpiece of my dada guru !!

  • WOW ! Masterpiece

  • it is, unfortunately, rare to see a sarangi player with amir khan. do you know who that is sitting by him in the photograph at a little short of 9 mins into this recording. also mirza saheb have you been able to identify the people in the photograph with bade ghulam ali khan?

  • can somebody please tell the meaning of the khyaal? i love this song and ustaad amir khans voice is just unique in history! thank you

  • @bernardi85 It means singing in meditation state. Lost in that thought.

  • @bernardi85 This is actually a song from a movie called `Jhanak jhanak payal baze' which was made in the mid 1950s by the great auteur V. Shantaram. The music director Vasant Desai made history by roping in Ustad Amir Khan as a playback singer for this song set to the raga Adana. It's on the clanging (jhanak) sound of dancing feet/on or with the rhythm of which dances the mind/so does the sky resound with the sweet clang/the sleeping earth too wakes/and the whole world/as do ragas & colours,

  • @bernardi85 : kosh9 is also correct in his definition of khyaal (which means literally `thought'); but that's not the meaning of the lyric which I have sent u. As a young man growing up in Bombay I have had the good fortune of listening to Ustad Amir Khan many many times; he was brilliant beyond adjectives....

  • @TheVitalstatistix

do you know which raga the khyal "Jagaat Sapna ka karat gumaan" by Ustad Amir Khanis is sung in? Sounds something like Bhairav(?)

  • @bernardi85

"Jagat Sapna" is in Komal Rishabh Asavari, the most common form of Asavari today.

  • soyi dharati jaag uthi hai Ustad with your singing

  • soothing voice...marvelous

  • What a voice !!!!!

  • exemplary singing by Ustad Amir Khan Sahib (one of the best ever Indian Hindustani classical music-singer) of the elaboration of filmi song i.e. Chhota Khayal in the Raag-Adana.

  • Mirza sahab, is it the same song used by Vasant Desai in the titles of the movie?

  • The payals everywhere are probably stirring up and begging to be put on the ankles of dancers so they can partake of UAK's thrilling recital. A most wonderful upload. Thanks, Mirzaji.

  • raag ragini bohat pasand hain mirzaji ko...

  • GREAT UPLOAD! THANKS FOR SHARING DEAR.

  • What a classic upload. Thank you very much for uploading.
