Needless to say, the books are great and the character Damon exists, but Ian give him a more real personality. So actually I think Damon is pretty hard to play, but Stefan is easy to play because he is always the same. Therefore I think it is important to appreciate, that Ian is a very good actor and he makes his job perfectly.
