  • Class act

  • in fact, those baby boomers achieved totally nothing after this "new awareness"

they were just there to see the artists and feel great about themselfs for buying a ticket, and that was all they ever did for future generations.

baby boomers are not also called infidels, their just soo immature.

like the mind of a child..

  • Only a fool believes what he receives, a wise man stands to reason away.

  • What a great song .... STILL ..... after all those years!! amazing! ... too bad that it is NOT polayed here in germany as often as in the US :-(

  • Check out the version from 2 female vocalists in New Orleans - Sally Townes and Juanita Brooks (RIP) at SallyTownesZZZ channel:

  • This song..and I will say it again if not said before...really emotes what music will always be for me. A harmony that takes a soul beyond and lets it fly to the heavens. Michael McDonald...thank you for adding your music to the tapestries of our lives.

  • This man has one of the most incredible voices ever, soulful and incredibly sexy!!!!

  • Lee Ritenour... one of, if not the best guitarist around.

  • Whoooaaa.bringin' back the good old days when i was still a kid

  • Awesome , y Bonita ,

  • Fantastic song!!! should be more music like this today...our generation was brought up with a great appreciation of music.

  • very good. unfortunately I hate it and your music comes on all the time at my work, and I think silence is better. Please stop.

  • yeah lisa fisher-brenda russell and phil perry singing back up. i think that's randy jackson on bass from american idol. ritnour on guitar alias mr. fingers! this is a strong ensemble!

  • Alex Acuna on percussion and Gary Novak on the drums round it out nicely too!

  • He even sang Peter's fart.

  • I love Hmmm I love him when he was Family Guy and singing backup for everything Peter said. LOLLLLLL that was really hilarious.

  • Guys..Im 12 and i hate hip hop music!

    Screw hiphop!

    This is the real deal

  • das lied ist schön

  • Gary Novak on drums ..... ?

  • correct!

  • Is that Brenda Russell singing back up?

  • It looks like that

  • @rachybaby72

that's brenda russell, and lisa fischer; double trouble!

if you want to hear lisa burn on this same gig, check out "how can i stop the pain" on you tube. it'll make you weak in the knees.

  • @rachybaby72 Wow what a hell of an ensemble. Brenda Russell it is. (Sidenote: "Piano in the Dark" is one of my favorite songs. Ever.)

  • There may never be a more perfect male vocalist like this man ever again...

  • Couldn't agree more with this statement. McDonald is one of a kind.

  • @mrsunshineshines

He is easily one of the greatest of all time. I remember the 1st time I heard him as a member of the Doobies. His voice is still just as great today as it was when he 1st started. Only a few people can say that.

  • @tokinblckgie him and the bieb should duet!

  • @mrsunshineshines hey dude!!what about the bieb?they should do a duet.

  • @mrsunshineshines I like Michael McDonald...but nobody is touching Marvin Gaye in my opinion.

  • i've always been amazed at the difference between his speaking and singing voice. you know how most often you can hear similar qualities between the two--not so with this guy. dwight said it perfectly--this boy can blow.

  • Although this version seems a bit fast, I think this is one of the great radio songs of all time. Great lyrics - no cliches - , funky groove, and a keyboard accompaniment riff that was revolutionary at the time and copied incessantly afterwords... and an incredible vocal performance. Kenny Loggins and Michael hit a grand slam with this tune.

  • SEMPLICEMENTE STRAORDINARIO

  • This Brother could always blow, what a voice...

Shame the new crop of Rnb singers cant drop it like this without the aid of Autotune and all manner of other studio trickery

Respect for posting one of the greats..

  • One of the best voices in music ever!

  • Great guitar riff by Lee in the middle... I like how he kinda talks the riff movements to himself... brilliant guitarist

  • Just curious, is that Lee Ritenour Jazz guitarist?

  • Yes it is the great Lee Ritenour

  • Michael McDonald is a great singer and he is very handsome.

  • That's a Bad Ass White Boy rite there!! One of my favorite artists with one of the most distinctive voices ever.

  • You said it perfectly

  • @flyty9393 kenny rogers, christopher cross, michael mcdonald are some of the best white dudes, mike im sure gets women like its nobodys business.

  • Wow, the disconnect between his spoken voice and his singing voice is staggering!

  • When he first joined the Doobie Brothers, the leading members thought he would be mostly a keyboardist/instrumentalist. They were floored when they heard how this small white guy could sing... This is a great example of his undeniably unique voice and instrumental talent. Best doobies song IMHO.

  • So if something you don't ascribe to, it's BS; why is that?

Ironically the song is "What a Fool Believes"!

  • Yep, that's Lee Ritenour on guitar.

  • fun fact: michael jackson sang backup on the album recording, but wasn't credited

  • I didn't think it was thin at the top. I thought it was excellent.

It may sound better half a tone lower, but let me just say I'd give my left nut have half the talent that man has. And yes I agree it's a killer bassline, maruciao.

  • i'm a singer but wish I had his voice, by far my fave singer. amazing

  • what a bassline!

  • This is one of my favorite songs, such a distinct voice!! Thanks for posting this!

  • pure class. great,,

  • Lee Ritenour on guitar?

  • Looks and sounds so!

    Great match

  • Cool version of one of my favorites... I really like the pronounced baseline, the boards instead of a piano... cool twist on a cool song

  • Like him, this song or not... his band is FRICKIN' in the Pocket on this performance. Almost too tight.
