Exactly. Everybody wants to modify the way they look, it's a natural instinct. I want to bulk up, so what's the difference between that and wanting a different eye color? It's just modifying the way you look. That's why people get stuff like tattoos, earrings, haircuts, etc.
Now of course it's important to do lots of research with this kind of stuff, but the fact that she was misled and scammed is no reason to accuse her of "hating herself" or "being stupid".

In my opinion is there a big fat border,most people don't recognize. There is a different between "wanna look more beautiful" and "risking your eye light"! I don't know why people are changeing their eyecolors,and just don't wanna know it.but I think this is an association problem what makes people doing dangerous operations. I have no idea why but my eyes keep switching color, some days when i look at my self in the mirror i have green eyes and other days i have blue eyes but most often they are a mix of both.

I don't think you can look that good with lighter eye colours unless you have lighter skin to match, it's not the same though if you are white and have darker hazel eyes, it can still go really well, like white people are much better with diversity and have more freedom and a wider expression to have some differences from other white people than if you have dark skin.
But it's really kind and well appreciated that the person who got this done is able to share it here and give advice on it.

Can't blame them you know, and this isn't anything new. People KNOW ahead of time there are risks, and accept that something wrong may happen to them. Something may have went wrong with you, but majority experience no complications. Also, you can have them retracted.
Making this video is a really good initiative. As you said yourself there isn't a whole lot of information available about this procedure so I am sure you have helped a lot of people by sharing your own experience.
I think it's great you're telling people about this, as many do not know the risks. I'm really sorry about your story - but for the record, I don't think you look like a vampire ^^. I actually like how your eyes look (obviously the looks aren't worth the complications, like you said), and while it doesn't look extremely natural (it rarely looks natural for a black person to have blue eyes ^^), I think it does give you a beautiful, intriguing look. @writergirlshoegal hey hey hey ain't nothing wrong with relaxing your hair. is your hair nappy? have you broke like three combs trying to comb your hair? i feel if you want to change something you don't like do it. weave, contacts, fake nails, make-up, they can all be removed. i don't know about this permanent stuff i wouldn't do it. but stuff that can be removed at the end of the day is perfectly fine.

thats a lie. the surgery is not safer than contact lenses. FACT: contacts cant blind you. surgery can cause blindness if one thing goes wrong. if u buy contacts you can change the color of ur eyes anytime

Can't blame them you know, and this isn't anything new. People KNOW ahead of time there are risks, and accept that something wrong may happen to them. Something may have went wrong with you, but majority experience no complications. Also, you can have them retracted.

I think it's great you're telling people about this, as many do not know the risks. I'm really sorry about your story - but for the record, I don't think you look like a vampire ^^. I actually like how your eyes look (obviously the looks aren't worth the complications, like you said), and while it doesn't look extremely natural (it rarely looks natural for a black person to have blue eyes ^^), I think it does give you a beautiful, intriguing look. I hope you work out your problems, good luck :)

@cniglari : I totaly agree all surgery have drawback and need to heal, however, the only that is responsible for how it looks is you, you are an african american women, and african american with blue eyes would look weird, if you had opted for a more natural color, green , hazel, you would be more satisfied with the physical apprerence .

(It's a further up the line sort of thing which includes MOST African American and Carribbean People!!!!!!) Check your facts and please don't rely on wiki. Sure, this girl's eyes are OBVIOUSLY fake but there are a shitload of full blooded east african women with eyes that are NOT dark brown. (start with Iman!!!!) I've been- have you? Keep an open mind. Also, look up Kenya Moore.

That is a trait that does NOT exist in pure Africans. There are a few of us with hazel and light-brown eyes but even then those people have a certain skin color and their eyes match their skin. Now I just gotta keep it real--if you aren't passing the brown paper bag test, DON'T DO blue or green, it's not a good look!
