  • this was recorded with a patato.

  • 0:19 Offside. Excellent call.

  • i hate when ppl post shit like this.

  • Ironic because the USA had this same thing happen to them against Italy in the group stage. Beasley struck it from outside the 18 yard box and scored, but Brian McBride was in an off sides position and didn't go after the ball, but was in the GK's sight line. Fairly similar to this, however I was happy that Italy won this game. So no super hard feelings.

  • no de rossi was offside...he intended to play the ball....same exact call happened to the US vs Italy when the usa player tried to flick the ball in but missed...was in an offside poeition with intent to play....both good calls

  • it was offside but it doesnt even matter

the refs did a bad job at this game..

first the controversial penaly shot which shouldnt have happened and then the when maluda was acctually tackeled inside the box in the second half the ref said play on when it should have been a penalty

but who cares italy won and theres no changing that

both teams suck now..neither could make it past the first round in the 2010 world cup

  • I'm pretty sure the Italian player that was offside also jumped for the ball so that's why the offside was called. The guy who scored was onside but the other intefered in the play and the right call was made

  • This goal was INSIDE. But who cares Italy won and is world champion. Only Brazil is better in football. I regret more the goal post of Toni in the first time, if this ball went a little bit lowest, Italy would score the second goal.

    FORZA ITALIA world champions !

  • I am a dire Azzurri fan but it seems to me that there really was an offside... if only by a hair. Good call. Italy still won though, so who cares now.

  • Notice how almost everyone who says it was offside uses the correct terminology and says OFFSIDE, whereas most of the people who SUPPOSEDLY thought it wasnt offside said OFFSIDES!

    It is OFFSIDE not OFFSIDES!

  • @buccos2324

Yeah because a spelling error is going to make a significant difference on whether the ball was offside or not. Great argument.

  • Offside. Clearly. Toni and de Rossi were offside. All it takes is a fraction of a foot, body, or head (hands, which includes the shoulders in the football definition of "hands", do not count because they do not provide the player with a potential advantage) and the player is in offside position. Good call. Not offside by much, but offside.

  • Toni and de Rossi were OFFSIDE. It´s OFFSIDE not offsideS

  • The way i see it is that the offside player wasn't the one who scored the goal.. so it should stand, this call is made too inconsistantly... in Frances previous game they scored against Brasil with one player in offside position and no call was made.

  • Offside

The announcers are so generic in their commentary:

"Well lets see he's right there that's a tough call he looked to be pretty close to me on that"

  • And I think the penalty of Malouda wasn't a dive? hahaha ITALY WON

  • It's perfectly inside. Italy won 2-1

  • you can clearly see it's an offside...

got to be retarded not to :p

  • then your retarted.its not offside u douche

  • are u blind? if i edit this video to show completely neutral colours for their shirts u would call that offside.

  • That was a beautiful goal. Too bad the linesman saw it as offsides.

  • That was a beautiful goal. Too bad the linesman saw it as offsides.

  • That wasn't tough at all. He was definitely off. both players went for the ball. toni was closer to being on but he seemed like he might have been a step off too. ether way, with the ball that close to two players and both of them going for the ball...offside.

and yes i am an Italia fan, and i am glad they won.

  • Ok sek he was not definitly offside u asshole just slightly are u french er sumthin u dumb fuck

  • Wow, what a very classy comment from you. You must make your mother very proud. Before you start calling someone a dumb fuck, maybe you should learn how to spell and learn a few grammar rules. English is not my first language and I make mistakes sometimes, but at least I don't embarrass myself when I try to talk. For the record, I am not French; I a Italian living in Australia.

  • Excuse for my language i apologize for this i understnad everyone has there opinion sorry

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha fighting online ,priceless

  • sek10, 1 correction. A player is guilty of offside only when he is involved in active play. Simply running in the same direction as the ball is NOT active play. It appears that both players were in an offside position when the ball was played from the DFK. The other It alian player did not play the ball, he did not interfere with play and he did not gain an adv. from being in an offside postion. If we assume Toni was on, then there can be no infraction. AR considered both is offside position.

  • meh, italia still won so I am happy, but damn..thats gotta suck.

  • Toni only needed any part of his body closer to Barthez goal to have goal disallow. It's a very close call. But who to you give the benefit to? Attacker or defender? Not exactly a bad call

  • Defintely not offside. De Rossi was, but due to the passive offside law, he wasn't play Toni offside, so that goal should have stood.

  • For me - it is off side. The guy who was passing the ball couldn't know who will intercept the ball - Toni or de Rossi.

  • toni was onside, that game should have been 2-0, but what ever we won anyways

  • de rossi in off side

    toni no

  • that's was payd

  • I agree that is NOT offside!!

  • that's no offside
