I was in Point Loma ( I'm still there) at the time. Although it was far away from where I was, I knew what was happening because I saw smoke filling the sky.
i can't believe everyone in the video with no masks or anything right next to the fire. it sucks though, I feel you. me and friends drove through the area near the mall where the nice houses are that got taken. my sympthy goes out.
I used to live In Escondido until i moved in 2005. family is there tho. great video-i want to see whats actually happening in my neighborhood. Its sad but thanks.
Yeah, I drove through there on my way to check on my house up in Sonata where I got evacuated Monday morning. On Monday afternoon when I drove through we could see the fields to the southwest of the southbound onramp (the Lomas Serenas corner) as well as smoking rubble in the median of the freeway. Waaayyy scary.
DrewJ16- Via Loma Vista area south of Via Rancho Pkwy was sort of on fire, but only the very southern most edges of it. Most of the fire was just east of it off of Purer road, on Skyhawk and Via Valente drives.
Thanks for the info. I received word that the fire did reach portions of the backyard, but structurally the house still stands! YAY! I just wish for the best for the other victims of the fire as well.
I had to evacuate yesterday but I was able to go back today. *sigh* but you never know when we'll have to evacuate again...these fires aren't gonna end anytime soon....

that video is shot on my exit, literally 3 minutes from where I live. I get gas at that chevron.

Yep, right behind the Chevron is where it was. I took a bunch of pictures too. Check my profile for my gallery.
