@mousey26133 sorry dude I don't know if Tom does or not. If you can learn to downstroke that fast then go for it. You get a nice clean, consistent sound by using all downstrokes, good for punk music generally.

Your powerchords aren't complete all the time...little finger running away a little:) For that "cleaner sound" you use palm muting.

I think that Tom's Fender only has the bridge humbucker, so I don't know how the song can be played with the neck pickup?

in the opening you dont even have to put your finger on the fifth fret of the e string you can just play a string open 2 times

Imagine there's 2 or 3 pickups on an electric guitar, the bridge pickup is the one closest to the bridge (also known as a Treble pickup). The bridge pickup is usually chosen for this type of music due to it's harsher tone.

What do you mean by special? If you mean something high-end like a Mesa-Boogie or a Marshall then no. All you need to play Dammit is any old amp and crank up the distortion and use the bridge pickup on your guitar and you're ready to go.
