  • Love it, What do you use as an monitor/sound output, what kind of speakers/amps?

  • GREAT

  • Is that an eye in the middle of the pad?

  • I want that thing. Can I have it?

  • KP3 is mainly an effects unit, so you can run every type of audio through it and put effects over it in real time. The sampling feature is merely a nice extra.

  • great jam!

  • Congratulations, you have way better artistic instincts than most of the people posting Kaoss Pad demos on YouTube!

  • Sometimes it sounds like a very old Kraftwerk, excellent demo, so different of "Techno 200bpm demos" unbearable ...Thanks!

  • Can you add effects in real time or do you have to sample an instrument before you can apply effects? That is the deciding factor in me purchasing KP3.

  • Sexy

  • how much do these machines go for?

  • @JORDAN12123 KP3's are about £300 but i've seen a mini KP FOR £130 but u'll need somthing no make samples cos there arn't many on it u can use a mic, an ipod, some music produtction softwear (cubase or Fruity Loops) a guitar or an digital drum kit well pretty much anthing that is electir and makes noise

  • i need a korg kp3, love u alll :)

  • Nice demo you have here.

  • is there a way to actually sequence the drums or are they all pre-set patterns?

  • Now these are prerecorded beats/samples that you've programmed into the Kaoss KP3 using the program that came with it? Or are these sounds already in the KP3? Thanks for you time. Great demo!

  • hubpages.com/hub/kaosspad my tutorials, explanation and review of the kaoss pad Quite amazing :]

  • Puts me to sleep, in a good way =w=

  • This program was made for beardyman....not really but no one can even come close to his skill..

  • where is a good place to buy one of these in the UK? also i wana get a GT-8 if anyone know where i can get one of those

  • i just bought the kaoss pad ... i'm amazed!!! it's an incredible machine ... and you can do infinite sounds with your voice and your instruments ... is simple and interactive ... i'm learning everyday ... beautifull!!!

greeting from santiago de chile ...

    Erick

  • is there a way to turn off the echo that is in most of the settings?

  • This awesome stuff just makes me float off into space in a calm world made up of 1989's DOS-based adventure game graphics ! <3<3<3

  • does kaoss pad has built in speakers? or we need to reconnect one ?

    pelase reply thanks ^^

  • @CaIIMeJacky You have to connect, of course

  • its so nice to watch someone being nice and creative with their Kaospad, i loved the tune. I now want one now.

  • the A<B<C<D banks are a joke......i bouhgt tha kp3 recently and the internal clock is off...that means that i record a loop at A, resampling it at B , and after a while they are off ...cant play live like this....

total crap!this is written i korg forums for kp3...

can keep time with itself but drifts out of time with external gear when playing back samples....

does this happen to Kaoss pro as well ?

  • hmm. boring

  • i want it!

  • are all the sounds in this video made with the kp3?

  • i need a kaoss pad 3!!!

  • @bURrn1265 me too :( theyr lush and i have to wait till christmass and even then i might only get a kaoss 2 :( x

  • @bURrn1265 my brother jus tgot one and dam its endless fun!

  • acutally loved this. not only is the song so chill that i feel tired now. but also you give a really good view of what can be done on a KP3 for someone not on the same level as beardyman.

you watch beardyman using it and its like "mindfuck you're doing like 1000 things at once". this gives a great view on how to use a kaos pad :) great vid

  • It's interesting, because I got a Kp3 for christmas, and it didn't take long before I could look back at myself and realize that anyone who didn't own one thinks you are doing a lot more than you really are.

  • Nice laid-back tune :)

  • That was awesome dude. Props

  • wow that was boring

  • you are boring :D

  • @KaslarProductions

    BUT RELAXING AS FUCK

LOOK AT THIS SMUG MOTHERFUCKER WITH HIS KAOSS SKILLS

  • @ImTheWackhead

I was telling playmeoffjohnny that he was boring because he said the song was boring... I fucking loved this jam...... I could listen to it all day and do my yoga to it

  • @KaslarProductions

FUCK YEAH YOGA I LOVE YOGA

FLEXING YOUR BODY IN ALL POSSIBLE WAYS IS THE SHIT MAN

    KEEP ON ROCKING

  • @ImTheWackhead

It is soo great.... I listen to lots of ambient music when I do it.... time slows down, and my mind can catch up from this fast paced world.

  • i dont like it.... much better: Beardyman

  • @skipodest i like ur style, im getting a kaoss pad cos i beatbox and i love beardyman

  • ke movida :S

  • great.

  • It's a nice composition. I was curious is the clipping/static from the korg or the recording?

  • Gotta love 'dem loops and filters :) ...this track is so sublime. very nice choice of elements with the sequencing job man

  • @MistRHobo never used an ipod. when i do vids i just record with a webcam and have the sound go to the input on my soundcard, then i sync them up with a video program. oO

  • Ah thanks anyways. I don't have a webcam nor really have the intention of getting one. I want to make more use out of my iPod's video because it has very nice quality.

  • i have famunda cheese

  • yes although the built in synths aren't very good because of the scale of the notes on the touch pad, still useable though.

  • it's a dynamic effect sampler...not a synthesizer ..

u could use it as synth but that usually sucks ...

cuz the synth's on the kp3 sound wayyy tooo agressive!

  • @hanfbrot But aggressive is good! I love them grindy, crunchy, dirty synths in my electro/techno/dubstep/DnB

  • dietro non è collegato l'rca...come fa a emettere il suono? fake

  • bomb beat

  • thx a LOT :D

  • can someone PLEASE tell me what the DUCK hes doing between:

    1.22 and 1.32 ?!?!

how u can record the kaoss-3-beats as a loop? i thought it is impossible (?!?!)

  • no, it's possible. there are two sampling modes: the normal one, which you can enter by pressing shift. This mode will record the INPUT, while the mode you enter by pressing shift and sampling at the same time (shift first) will record everything the OUTPUT. Really nice ^^

  • shit and sampling = resample, it records all the kp3 outputs to a sample bank slot.

  • i h8 these dj mag reviews kos after every tiny bit theres sum reli shitty noise and a gay flashing image

  • beautiful piece of music, man.

were you using some kind of vinyl based loop in there? I kept hearin some snaps/crackles....

    Cool work, tho!!

    Peace!

  • i love it

  • does anyone know how to return the system to its factory settings? i think iv favourited some effects to the buttons but just want to get it back to the way it was originally. please help me, im a dumbass i know! cheers.

  • Now's the time to think about why they give you a manual :P Hope you solve it ;) Good luck. AND A KEEEP THA MAJUUSIC ALIVE AH!

  • haha, i know, but the manual is crap to be honest. my music will always be alive. 4 defo.

  • But they really have to have instructions how to reset it. Good :D

  • i know, but they don't. Mine got fried anyway so ive sent it back and waiting on a replacement. should come midweek.

  • Just load the PC/Mac software. It's easy to re-assign the keys back to the factory settings via USB and the Korg software.

  • Friend can not get to run the right channel fx relase me explain

  • awesome

  • anyone know how to play the audio input live without applying any effect?

  • turn the fx depth (left side knob above the slider) to zero if you want a dry signal (if that's what you're looking for)

or simply just don't touch the screen LOL

  • deep house.lounge.ambient.

    improv vs. practice!

    very nice.

  • is this better than the akai mpd 32?

  • lol there both two completely different things... get both.

  • nice geamacht, aber i-wann nerv der erste ton

  • all i have is the mini kaos, it sucks

  • I'm gonna kill my wallet and go for the kp3 instead of the mkp. The kaossilator is great, but the mkp just isnt a kp3. . . .

    + the kaossilator goes excellent with a kp3! :D

  • fabbo

  • fantastic! :-)

  • that was nice

  • Awsome dude you rock. This is new synth for me too.

  • i'm getting one today!

    you've inspired me.

  • Gutes Stück!

  • skiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillz

  • amazing!

  • great job dude! ;-)

  • omfg i need one i have a mic to use with it how much does it costs? the cheapest one?

  • look on ebay

  • skillz

  • wtf?? nice job dude, its the second time that i see something like that lol

    i liked that

  • Good job !

  • realy nice...i want one of this

  • Hi backtowarwick!!

I was wondering if there exists any software that simulates the KP3 on a Tablet PC Laptop.

I have an HP Pavilion TX2000 and it would be great if I could use it's touch screen as a KP3 for the MP3 music I have got.

    Thanks!!!!

PS: please answer even if you think it's not possible...

  • would there be a kp3

if theres a software like it?!

  • Yes.

  • no; because programmers know that the tx2000 was not meant for musical making capabilities.

sorry:/ i wondered the same thing, i sold mine and bought a mac.

  • Yes of course it is possible, easily. I'm not sure if someone has taken the time to MAKE something like it. But it is indeed very possible.

Get software like Fruity Loops, then wait for a developer to create an interface for it similar to KP3.

  • yeah this is very cool,... smooth thing,... good performance,..!

have you watched beardyman on the kaoss pad 3 with his duck,...

    incredible, too,...!

  • F*ck the duck! :)

  • love this. just put it on and forgot I was even listening to it. Now I want one for my vibraphone!.

  • this sorta sounds like "The Album Leaf", but at the same time it doesnt.

    Very cool

You might like that band, you should check em out

  • The Album Leaf uses KP's.

  • just thinking that, but maybe more boards of canada ? still so cool.

  • Amazing band.'The Light' is a sad song :(

  • crazy machine!!!!!

looks really great but to difficult to me XD

  • beautiful performance

  • i fuckin' luv it!

  • the korg magic box...I love it

  • I have seen lot of videos using this korg kaoss pad but no one use it like u man.. congrats.. really u have talent

  • this sounds a lot like telefon tel aviv. in a very good way!

  • ohh wow i wants one but i bet they cost alot though X__x, i really like that tune, quite relaxing xD good to chill out to,

  • radiohead

  • yeah!

  • hey backtowarwick :), ive buys this KP3, I pressen the ''sample'' then i pressed''A''

recorded, but i didnt get it to replay it,

    know whats wrong here xD?

  • You can go to a sample program to replay it or simply push the sample button (A in this case) in a non-sample program, move up the FX release fader and the sample should sound ;)

  • This is my fave toy at the moment =) Nice bit of ambience there. I have a Kaossilator hooked up to my kp3 to add an extra dimention.

  • well there is a beat, and a melody, there are musical notes involved (albeit electronically altered). I'd say that sums it up.

i mean it's not bon jovi but damn!

    bon jovi? really? ska? wtf?

  • ew, I would prefer to argue the nonmusic that bon jovi is.

  • are u using the mic jack as an input and how r u recording this

  • no...i am not using any inputs here. All of the sounds are samples that I took from recording sessions and transfered to the kp3 over USB. For the video/sound here I just used the old digital camera that I had. I new and much better quality one is in the works.

*note: you can in fact use the mic input/rca inputs to run audio through the kp3 and effect it.

  • heycna you just record a tune on a kp3 n thn transfer it to your computer?

  • well you can either do 2 things...

you can have the output of the kp3 going into your computer and have the entire progress recording in real time while you are building and messing with your loop

    or..

you can save the final loop to the kp3 and transfer that to the computer.

if you want to record a song...i would go through it, decide what programs you want to use as well as timing and stuff, and then record the whole thing in real time after you've gotten that down.

  • nice. those kaoss pads look real fun to play with. good jerb.

  • why evertime a transmit a sample from my pc to the kp3 using the editor the tone seems to change (plays a lower tone)? am i doing something wrong? how can i fix it?

  • you probably just have to set the bpm's to a proper tempo. Do this by increasing the knob on the top right...or tapping out the tempo that you want with the tap tempo.

  • sample rate or bit depth the culprit, perhaps. I know an improperly used High bit-depth sample can result in pitching down.. Is the source you're xferring 24 bit, maybe?

  • That's extra good mate, my theory behind modern electronic music is it the best bit from any other form of music whether it's jazz, rock, indie, funk, it's that best 4 or 8 bars repeated over and over and explored to the Nth degree.

The kaoss pad allows you to do just that, a really graceful loop that's sounds awesome on it's own... right, now let's see what we can squeeze out of it, how many directions we can take simple loop in!

That takes real vision man, keep on keepin on!

  • アイルバイ

  • wow

  • the samples are the following:

bank a: some heavily processed piano (mxl 990)

bank c: sampled electric drums (kp3 internal)

bank d: alternate heavily processed piano (mxl 990)

    bank d:

  • Hey everyone...sorry I havent gotten back to any questions in a long time...ill try and clear some stuff up now. The video is of just the KP3. The sounds you here are samples that I have loaded. It can also process external inputs in real time, but im not doing that here. As far as "all samples were created using studio equipment"...they are all samples i recorded of myself...

  • "All samples were created using studio equpment."

  • finally, someone who can work this thing!

  • nice video! good control of this machine.

  • I am really impressed and I have the same questions: is it just kaos pad 3 with samples?

Please continue to upload your music videos!

  • is this all just the kaoss pad 3? as im interested in getting one, but then again a total beginner! could you message me on youtube? id be really grateful, awesome stuff man, really impressed.
