No offense, but an 04-05 SRT-4 is slightly faster than an 03-05 350Z. I have an 05 350z base right now, and my last car was an 04 SRT-4. With a boost leak, a bad clutch, broken motor mounts, and H-rated tires (hard as hell), I ran a 13.72@104.63 with my SRT-4. That trap speed is the part you need to pay attention to. Cars running a 13.7 don't normally trap that fast. What that tells you is that the car was pulling really hard once I got going. SRT-4's are really hard to launch.
Stock for stock they're very close.... But the Z is slightly faster. The SRT-4 quarter mile time: 14.2 sec. @ 99.5 mph. The 350Z Quarter mile time: 14.0 sec. @ 99.2 mph. By the way I'm talking about the 03-05 model with the VQ35DE Engine pushing 287 HP. The 06+ Z engine with 307HP is obviously a different story.
I'm not going to have an argument on this subject. The numbers you just posted are not the typical times you see in the real world. 0-60 in 5.3 and 1/4 mile in 13.9 for the 04-05 srt-4 is more typical, and reviewers have done that too. My numbers and feelings on this come from experience. My last car- 04 srt-4. My current car- 05 350z 6-speed. My best time with stock srt-4 on junk tires- 13.72@104.63mph. With my Z- 13.89@102mph. Over 80 passes on each car. The SRT-4 pulls harder too

I'm the original owner of an '04 performance model that I am doing a full Nismo upgrade to. Silverstone with orange seats. I have the Nismo suspension and headers left to do. Everything else is done. I also have ordered a lot of JDM stuff. The Nismo exhaust sounds awesome. I didnt buy it to get chicks, my point was that the Z is clearly a better looking car and just with the Nismo bolt on stuff, it's plenty fast for me. I'm getting a Sony HD camcorder soon and I'll post some vids. :-)

My friend, you are badly mistaken. I used to have an 04 SRT-4 (check my vids), and I currently have an 07 350z. I used to have an 05 350z as well. The SRT-4 sold for $19,000 to $22,000 (USD) new, depending on options. The 350z sold for 26k to 35k new, depending on options. My 07 touring was $31,000 when it was brand new. The SRT-4 is extremely fast for the price, but they are built with typical shitty Mopar quality. Nissan makes a far better, nicer car.

I agree that torque is what breaks things.. particularly torque that comes on fast and hard, like the SRT-4 has. However, it is possible to engineer vehicles well enough to handle their own power. I don't know anybody who knows cars that would claim that a Dodge is as well built- and/or well-engineered as a Nissan. I can tell you this- It wasn't cheap when I had to put $6,000 worth of repairs into my SRT-4 before I ever raced it at the dragstrip.. all in less than a year.

I'm Not a domestic car fan. 1/4 mile and 0 to 60 times where not that much of a factor in what car I bought. If I wanted a vette I would have bought one. If I was going to drop $80,000+ on another car it would be a new GTR.
I'm sure they do. I personally decide on buying a car on appearance, comfort, and drivability. All things that are subjective. I've test driven Vettes and I'm not saying they are not nice cars. I just wouldn't buy one. Where I live I can count the number of times on one hand that I've driven 200+ KM/PH nor am I a big street racer so I would never use 400+ Horsepower. I've never dyno'd my Z but the around 300 BHP is plenty for me.
The bottom line is this- The only reason the 1/4 mile times are so close is because the SRT-4 cannot launch as well as the RWD 350z. Once again, my last car was an 04 SRT-4 (loved it), and my current car is an 05 350z 6-speed (love it too). The SRT-4 runs more like a low to mid 13-second car from a roll, while the 287hp Z pulls like a high 13-low 14 second car, which it is. I love my Z, but I know for a fact that my SRT-4 was noticeably quicker.

@ferbsnissan Most arguments are pointless anyway, and that is still slower being that this highly modifyed version of the GT-R supposedly goes 0-60 faster the then ACR yet still can't beat it on the track, which once again proves that 0-60 is not even close to everything. Its easy to make a car fast when your constantly upgrading it, from what i can see there are a lot of different GT-Rs out there(like that premium). Which is stupid, don't compare highly modified versions of a car.

@875109725710 I hate to break this to ya, but the gtr premium is the lowest 2012 gtr available. There's nothing modified, it's 100% stock, unlike your top of the line viper acr. The viper is a dodge, the gtr is a nissan.....it's not hard to figure out who has a better reputation for reliability and engineering.

@ferbsnissan Correction, the ACR goes 0-60 in 3.4 seconds 0.1 seconds slower the and all wheel drive rice burner, not bad for just rear wheel drive which in the end is better due to higher top speeds and handling, 0-60 is not everything.

I'm Not a domestic car fan. 1/4 mile and 0 to 60 times where not that much of a factor in what car I bought. If I wanted a vette I would have bought one. If I was going to drop $80,000+ on another car it would be a new GTR.

I'm sure they do. I personally decide on buying a car on appearance, comfort, and drivability. All things that are subjective. I've test driven Vettes and I'm not saying they are not nice cars. I just wouldn't buy one. Where I live I can count the number of times on one hand that I've driven 200+ KM/PH nor am I a big street racer so I would never use 400+ Horsepower. I've never dyno'd my Z but the around 300 BHP is plenty for me.

The bottom line is this- The only reason the 1/4 mile times are so close is because the SRT-4 cannot launch as well as the RWD 350z. Once again, my last car was an 04 SRT-4 (loved it), and my current car is an 05 350z 6-speed (love it too). The SRT-4 runs more like a low to mid 13-second car from a roll, while the 287hp Z pulls like a high 13-low 14 second car, which it is. I love my Z, but I know for a fact that my SRT-4 was noticeably quicker.

are you kidding me. it was at the drag strip. i dident redlight and both tree's went down at the same time. i pulled a faster time than him and had just a little bit better reaction time. so he wouldent of won even if he did take off .111 seconds faster.
