As a Gypsy "purist" I generally hate local productions. You must have had a good director, because the number was true to the show. You added a bit with finding the note which kind of broke the fourth wall by connecting with the orchestra which was unfortunate but I gather you're probably an audience favorite.
Overall, a remarkably good job for amateurs (and I use the term with tremendous respect..."amateur: for the love of it"
It's almost the same dance that Moeller&Botelho maded at the brazilian version of Gypsy
