Saw this movie for the first time ever a few days ago. I had never even heard of it until recently, which is particularly odd because I grew up in this era of "coming of age" movies. What a great movie... honestly. And Kevin's performance and character are really endearing here. I love his take on the southern accent. Loved it, and will be adding it to my DVD collection soon.

This is the best movie in the world all thanks to Elijah and Kevin. I love the part where Kevin finishes the story of the war. It's sad to hear that he leaves his friend but beautiful to see his son embrace him afterwards, then his memerable speech.

direction extremely well for this character. Too bad he grew up. Just kidding it's just that he had a lot of

passion to do this character. He was so, so good. I guess today he does not have that same child like passion
