I jump out of aircraft at 12,000ft. The pilot never took us above 6,000ft for the short crossing to Grímsey. Consider it part of the inflight entertainment system. There is nothing wrong with this gap there. This is a Twin Otter not an Airbus or a Boeing - A regular airplane, not a jet.
I have travelled this route for 17 years safely and there has never been an incident of any kind.
