Rich Rose on bass was my MIDI 1 professor and Steve Quenzi on piano taught Sound Recording 2 class at MDCC Miami. Now I own a Project Studio in Hyderabad Pakistan where I reside now
Ed Calle plays an AMAZING solo on this! At first reminiscent of early 80's Mike Brecker but then - as usual - and very quickly, very much of his own making, w/ the toungeing stuff etc... This guy can gets sounds out of his sax that NONE of us ain't every heard before and that no-one can do! Why he is still hangin' out in Miami is a mystery to many of us. He is a deep deep player who has SERIOUSLY done his homework! Boy are these kids lucky they are checkin' this heavy stuff out..& get to study
yes he is the closest to brecker anybody would get too. i have more videos to upload that are more ridculous. in my opinion he is the best sax player right now!
Well, you will not get me to disagree that Ed Calle is amazingly talented and practiced. However, I would to say that Ed would probably wish to endorse his own personality and (not solely the great M.B.) and is quite cable of doing so.
i totally agree. he has his own persnality. and i believe he is doing things to reinvent the saxaphone as others have done before him. you should check out his records on itunes. he is a personal friend of mine and i get to play with him regularly. he is a great person as well which is usually how all the greats are
Don't know if you remember me, I used to sing with you guys at different times... Ed, we were in "Beginnings" together... Rich, we played sometimes with Joe Rohm back "in the day!!" The name is Jamie.... remember me?? You guys sound great!
