  • THE BEST INTERPRETATION I'VE EVER HEARD!!!

  • There are two things that are universal Music and Mathematics...OK then, there it is.

  • ¡¡¡ Magnífica música espiritual epañola !!! Preciosa interpretación.

  • @Servilio1000 This music isn't Spanish. Great art doesn't have a nationality

  • I've loved this for 40 years and this is such a beautiful performance. Thank you!

  • @paluhl You're welcome!

  • Incredible. So beautiful.

  • Quando venite in Sardegna?

  • This is beautiful.

  • like.

  • Is this performance available on CD? Looking on Amazon and can't seem to find it.

  • @kwilsonjr I don't know. This is from a BBC programme: bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00x21sc

  • I just don't know what to say. That is the most perfect performance of that song I have ever heard. And I have sung it before with a chamber choir. I am so grateful to you for posting this video. I'll be watching it over and over again.

  • @kwilsonjr You're very welcome, Ken

  • I had to listen to this over and over and then watch closely, the for men on the left are singing the Alto very impressive

  • I have never heard anything so perfect in my life

  • @ferka07 I think you'll like this one too: youtube.com/watch?v=y5S1RiSOPnY (Use headphones - good ones)

  • @REV16665 that link just takes me back to the homepage

  • @ferka07 Search: ♫ Duruflé, Requiem: Introit & Kyrie (organ version) ♪ (Second result)

  • Simply Amazing! This is why they are rated the #4 choir in the World!!! (Grammophone Magazine)

  • @bghcomposer Which ones are even better, according to GM?

  • @REV16665 The Cardinall's Musick, Polyphony and the Monteverdi Choir, according to the article.

  • @jakeyjazz Thanks. The first two I don't know, but I don't think The Sixteen and the Monteverdi Choir should be compared. That's a bit like comparing a string quartet with an orchestra

  • @REV16665 Polyphony, conducted by Stephen Layton, is a very similar group to The Sixteen, but they are generally more famous for performances of more recent works than The Sixteen. I have their Eric Whitacre "Complete A Capella Works" CD; they absolutely nailed every performance, and I think their performance of the Lauridsen O Magnum Mysterium and Ave Maria are the best I've ever heard.

  • SUPERBE interprétation.

  • I felt the "r's" should have been rolled. For example, the "r" in mirabilis. Also the "r" in viscera. There are plenty of others. I appreciate that many singers cannot roll an r. But there are usually a few in choir that can.

  • @george11419 I think they do roll them, but without stressing them

  • @REV16665 Being an amateur singer, I'm inclined to examine technique of my betters. I'm a stickler for diction and the way words are enunciated. I have a phobia for the word "and", prefering to pronounce without any emphasis, as in And with these stripes (Messiah). I admire semi-quavers that are articulated, especially in Handel and Bach. With the rolling of "r's", I find german singers are particularly good, partly because it's in their everyday speech.

  • @george11419 Most Germans pronounce the letter 'r' as the French pronounce it (with the throat), and not as the Italians do (with the tongue). (In their everyday speech, I mean)

  • @REV16665 I thought they were flipping the "r"

  • @hotwaterishot I think we're hair-splitting

  • @REV16665 Sometimes you gotta split hairs to be this good. ;)

  • @hotwaterishot That's true

  • superbe !

  • ...such music....

  • There's a lot of overlap between these various groups; Polyphony, The Sixteen, and the Tallis Scholars trade singers all the time. Between these three groups we're pretty much talking about the best professional choristers in the world.

  • The middle woman who appears in the shot at 1:04, isn't she in the Tallis Scholars?

  • Beautiful performance, all voice sections supporting, enhancing each other,

    Very well done.

  • I don't like... I love, I adore.

  • Wow...That was unbelievable!!! I love the Harry and the Sixteen. The cinematography is also gorgeous and goes with the music perfectly.
