lol nice landing btw bro my foggiest landing was in VIDP was soo foggy that u cant even see th ground lool after i touched own with the ils approach i check if i actually landed on the runway and i did
EVERYONE know that the ALT does not get turned off until the G/S "diamond" has reached the center. Then the ALT hold is OFF and the plane will descend itself. The APP should also be turned on when the diamond is centered. The center means you have intercepted with the G/S.
the free way is to go into controls assignments and then find the controls to move around. i believe FS already has default controls like shift + enter, backspace, etc. try them out. if you go into the learning centre watch all the videos youll eventually find one with the default key assignments listed
@Grudgefudge you are suppose to arm the loc button first. Once established with the localiser arm the app hold switch. This holds your altitude until you have captured the glidescope.
If you want to do things like the pros, i suggest something called "Multi Crew Experience". A virtual co-pilot will execute your voice commands while you concentrate on flying the thing. Kiss goodbye to keyboard and mouse. Only joystick becomes relevant.
I am Pilot Myself we should play Multiplayer and I have a question I need to say something over the intercome in the plane in a Free Flight what do I do? I know it is very hard to land In fog I have suceeded it a 100 times
It's the Airplanes navagation picking up the ILS signal. Once you recieve the ILS and made sure it's the correct airport, you can turn off call NAV1, which will turn off the beep. Make sure you switch to Nav and NOT GPS. The ATC should send you to a good altitude to pick up the ILS. Usually around 1800 feet to 3000 feet. I think the noise is annoying. Once you are captured on the frequency, Switch to NAV and Vor lock. Once it has a 3 degree glideslope, the airplane will begin its descent.
wow, that was a perfect landing, there was no way you did anything wrong like u sed in ur description, ignore that, all i have to say hat is was sweet, :) btw? do you use trackir?
@MBfilmer You were in range of the localizer and active on it. Your HDG hold should of been on NAV hold because it automatically aligns with the runway. You landed pretty fast too, that's why you landed so far after the piano keys
@MBfilmer You were in range of the localizer and active on it. Your HDG hold should of been on NAV hold because it automatically aligns with the runway. You landed pretty fast too, that's why you landed so far after the piano keys. At least it looked as that to me, if I'm wrong tell me... Good video though
@Blobtastic88 if you want the airplane follow the G/S until almost to the ground the best is at 200ft... of you want to test your skill a bit you may want to turn it off at 1000ft or when the plane is about to intercept the G/S
You turned on you nav radio or some other radio that doesnt need to be and you got morse code beeps from it. For ILS the nav radio does not need to be turned on at the bottom of the panel (the switch at the bottom). Even if it aint on ILS still works.
If I was the pilot of this aircraft I would have never landed there and found a place safer. ;-)
Nice landing. It looked as if you were going too fast for it to be a safe landing. I presume its because I was only able to see 200 feet in front of the aircraft.
@NikitaPilotMen yes it is a normal Boeing 737-800, but it is also called a B738. B738 is the FAA Type name for the aircraft, but its model number is 737-800. So i'. sorry to tell you so, but you shouldn't be talking about Boeing aircraft if u clearly know nothing about them.

that is the morse code the VOR station sends to the plane so the pilot can identify hes selected the correct vor station... vor (very high frequency omnidirectional range... which is a ground station used for navigation)
nice, i would have trouble with landing on a bright sunshiny day and here you are putting it down almost in the middle without being able to see what you're landing on until you're right there
look i see the airport ils its 110.300 the i put in the radio, then i activate tne nv1 the i put aproach botton and comand pilot but it don t land i don t know plz contest me...
Actually, it is not illegal to switch the morse code off. When pilots enter the frequency, they only have it on for a brief time to check if the plane has actually tuned into the ILS, then they can switch the sound off.
Final approach speed was 140 knots. I had a lot of fuel left. 100 ft above the runway power is set to flying minimums, and when treshold was passed, and when was sure that safe landing is possible, power went to 0%.
Well in an auto approach the plane will correct istelf (given that the runway has a localizer and glideslope). A good approach speed is about 150. But you don't need it to be an exact speed to touchdown at the right point. If it's a manual ILS then your ILS display should show you the g/s and localizer. you just adjust your pitch to maintain the proper glideslope. Besides, you will probably want the a/t off on your approach so you can adjust speed as needed.
Great video, nice and smooth! Could I ask, if your approach and landing was so automated, how come you didn't land on the centre line of the runway? I have a intel 3.0Ghz single processor pc which i may buy a new graphics card for, and run fligth sim on, could you recommend one? thanks!! :)
Well, AP is turned off at 50 ft, as well as ILS, and I could know where the runway is and can't miss it, but I can miss CL (Center Line), as well as in RL (Real Life). But in this case, I didn't missed it, as you can see at 07:41 video time, the wind just blew me to right side when touchdown happened.
I got ATI Radeon X1950 Pro card, and it's quite good, but I'm searching for a new card, too. Those Nvidias are seem to be very nice, a 512mb ones.
Well, about year and a half. This graphic card is quite cheap and it's very good. I think today you can find it for about £150-200. I'm still OK with it, but to make FSX work perfectly smooth, I need some better card with at least 512 MB, and a bit faster processor.
NVIDIA 8800 GT 512MB, how much is the sapphire x1950 512MB pro AGP version ? do you think ? i have 1 gb of ram do you think i should get another for fsx orrr? thanks
Well, I recommend you to put one or two GB's of RAM more, 'cause FSX is a really big measuring game. For FS9 1 GB is quite enough, but when i was playing FSX with 1 GB of RAM, it was totally disaster XD
Awesome Landing. I just started messing with the GPS/ILS but I don't know how to approach the runway. Not sure if the plane will land itself or I have to do it, and if the AP has to do it how will it know the right altitude,descent,speed...etc. Sorry I think it's cool and really want to learn.
the gps and nav toggle to be at nav and the approach should be on, then it will line you up, but i suggest you watch tutorial's om how to do an ils landing, there are loads and that's how i learnt !! good luck
Err nice landing but I think that ILS is just to easy! I haven't even done all the beginner missions on FSX but I can still do Monsoon Approach its even easier than Telluride Landing because you do no work until touchdown.
Well, reverse is forbidden to use below 60 kts, cause you can destroy engines. In normal landings are used autobrakes, but this is kind of risky landing so you cant take it thatway, so i braked manually. I don't have step brake here (at my home), so when I landed, I used manually brakes which automatically goes to maximum (kind of annoying for fsx :)).
cool video hey did u use one of those Headsets for VR cockpit viewing? how did you land in fog too hard for me i cant see and your vids a bit hard for me to understand. But great video i love it!!

haha ur a jackass its not illegal to turn off the ils u fool and u can use your flaps above 10000 feet its called slow flight stop bullshiting through ur arse. what u never do is put power to idle before crossing the threshold no matter how much speed you have and your using your gps even though your using the "ILS" u shudnt need it thats what the localizer is for...Ugh i hate people that make shit up!!
ok you noob.. first at all, you dont have shit of knowlege about this. yes, its not illegal in albania but some countries are strict about it, no just sound, only signal. flaps: i dont talk about altitude, i talk about speed!! next, i did not put throttle to idle, u dont watch at all...next, u dont have nerves and patient at all, at least for finishing the sentence!!! hey... just for information... turning off the IDENTIFIER ( morse code ) isnt illegal...
on early jets... this was used to indentify 'are you tuning the right freq' by listening the morse code
also... dont land with FULL TANK of FUEL... try to make it below 20000lbs.. 15000lbs is better
nice vid...
if you want to learn more... search PFD CAM on YT
they have the takeoff and landing vid but they only record the PFD and HSI
enjoy...

Blobtastic88 2 years ago
AP have lot of segments, some of them are turned off earlier, some later.
HDG is turned off on localizer active.
NAV is turned off as you get ILS clearance.
ALT is turned off as soon as on glide slope.
SPD is turned off at final or when RIS (Runway In Sight)
APP is turned off as vacating the runway, as like as AP CMD.

Actually, it is not illegal to switch the morse code off. When pilots enter the frequency, they only have it on for a brief time to check if the plane has actually tuned into the ILS, then they can switch the sound off.
Besides, it only distracts the pilots :P

siemprehorney 3 years ago
Well in an auto approach the plane will correct istelf (given that the runway has a localizer and glideslope). A good approach speed is about 150. But you don't need it to be an exact speed to touchdown at the right point. If it's a manual ILS then your ILS display should show you the g/s and localizer. you just adjust your pitch to maintain the proper glideslope. Besides, you will probably want the a/t off on your approach so you can adjust speed as needed.

Err nice landing but I think that ILS is just to easy! I haven't even done all the beginner missions on FSX but I can still do Monsoon Approach its even easier than Telluride Landing because you do no work until touchdown.
goingdowntheils 3 years ago
Well right, but at 140 feet of ahead visibility there is no other way than fly under AP and ILS

great landing. But why did you use the wheel breaks so much? Reverse thrust is best, so those on board dont shate themselves
mcstarr25 4 years ago
Well, reverse is forbidden to use below 60 kts, cause you can destroy engines. In normal landings are used autobrakes, but this is kind of risky landing so you cant take it thatway, so i braked manually. I don't have step brake here (at my home), so when I landed, I used manually brakes which automatically goes to maximum (kind of annoying for fsx :)).

haha ur a jackass its not illegal to turn off the ils u fool and u can use your flaps above 10000 feet its called slow flight stop bullshiting through ur arse. what u never do is put power to idle before crossing the threshold no matter how much speed you have and your using your gps even though your using the "ILS" u shudnt need it thats what the localizer is for...Ugh i hate people that make shit up!!
doormaneamons 4 years ago
ok you noob.. first at all, you dont have shit of knowlege about this. yes, its not illegal in albania but some countries are strict about it, no just sound, only signal. flaps: i dont talk about altitude, i talk about speed!! next, i did not put throttle to idle, u dont watch at all...next, u dont have nerves and patient at all, at least for finishing the sentence!!! NEXT: THIS IS FLIGHT SIMULATOR ---GAME (!)--- ... and very next, this is for FUN. NEXT: u dont read at all, so who is jackass now
MBfilmer 4 years ago
how do u get to turn ur "head" so fast?
