I wish Sega would made an Sonic Advance Collection like how Mega Man Zero Series was re-released again as well. I think Sonic Advance Collection should have games like: Sonic Advance 1-3, Battle, Pinball Party & Sonic Rush Series for ether: DS or 3DS would be uber evily sick! Just need Wifi, Wireless Multiplayer & etc. Sonic Advance 2 is the bomb, mon!

This is actually as of now my favorite 2d Sonic game. Sega has answered our call of good mindles fun speed. It's suprising how much of a rush you get by holding the right button. I don't really notice music, since I usually mute it and put on a song by Rush, or Iron Maiden. You'd be suprised how much they fit.

It had a great cast too! No overflow of Characters/story. Just Sonic and friends, Eggman, an the Emeralds.

I just love this game.

Grinding is nothing new compared to the first game. The actually important change is something immediately obvious, which you failed to mention - the auto-spings, which activate as soon as you touch them, instead of having to stop and jump on them, thus slowing down every two seconds.

It took me 2 weeks 2 fully complete this game with every charactor's set of 7 Chaos Emeralds (Including Amy's) & finish off the True/Truth Area 53! After that I got my Chao up to 99 on all of its stats! (I was on like glue on paper from start 2 finish)

Getting the Emeralds is so damn hard but worth it! Love this game, but Sonic 3 & Knuckles will always be on my No.1 spot! =D

I don't think it's worth the effort. There's no detector to show where the ring locations are, your forced to play the acts over and over and over unless you get a guide. If you absolutely need to have a guide to beat a game they game isn't intuitive enough. IMO you should be able to complete a game without any outside influence, such as the game you mentioned Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Also even if you get the emeralds, what have you really accomplished? The next game it's going to be something else.

If you like the game, you'll go through the stages and memorize them soon enough. Then you won't need a level map or item detector. And if you do get all the Emeralds, you get different unlockables depending on who you get them all with, and I think that's cool. The ending is the best, though.

You shouldn't "need" to memorize anything the first time you play. This is a Sonic game, it's about getting from point A to point B as fast as possible, occasionally getting the chance to get an emerald, beating up robotnik and saving the day. The levels are too large and dieing to easy for item collection all in one run. Item collection while on the same life works MUCH better and more logically in a 3D environment such as the Sonic Adventure games.

I responded with the above. Since, you know, it IS quite tedious to have to memorize stuff if you want to actually speed through the stages. What good is Sonic's speed if all it does is lead you into unavoidable traps? (Unavoidable, unless you slow down...)

I think traps like that are in all the 2D Sonic games. Not horrible ones, but just mostly spikes or something. They are avoidable, but are harder to avoid on your first run through it. But memorization comes easily if you enjoy playing through the stages alot. It's like that with any game, really. The more you know the stage, the faster you go through.

No offence dude, I know i suck at it. I got games that i master (Like Sonic adventure 2 battle, Sonic next gen and many more) and there are a few games i suck at. (Secret Rings, Sonic advance, Mario kart and Mario Galaxy) But i DO enjoy them exept for Secret Rings of course. I always hated that game, because it didn't felt like Sonic; No chaos emeralds, no REAL tails and knuckles and eggman and TOO many hard stages.

You must use each of the seven zones (either act 1 or 2) to get all 7 Emeralds. Sorry, there's no easy way out of it.

I strongly agree with you. This game is RUBBISH. Honestly if I had this game for gameboy advance(not emulator) I would chuck it out of the window. I did beat Egg Saucer(or Spinwheel as I call him) once with Tails but to be honest I hate the Death Platform boss more(Techno Base).

Well firstly this is just my opinion so it doesn't actually mean the game is bad

1. Cheap level design. Usually resulting in me dying for no reason

2. Chaos emeralds being a fucking pain

3. Boss attacks are frustrating

4. Knuckles unlocked in the most unfair level in the game

5. And as I said before Amy just isn't worth unlocking

6. And I don't know about you but I found the Techno Base very confusing with all the lights for platforms

But that's just me. I prefer Genesis Sonic.

1. What do you mean? It's much better.

2. I must agree, but its only ONE game. You don't have to die to get them all.

3. I would have to disagree, apart from the Egg Saucers hand.

4. Sky Canyon is easy once you get used to it.

5. Amy rolls into a ball now, so its easier. But..it's a little hard.

6. Don't play this if you have bad eyes. Thats one of the flaws.

The special moves like: 0:28 - While Sonic jumping from a sloped edge (or whatever it is) he spins vertically 0:42 - Tails is double-jumped*** 1:04 - Knuckles boosted in air** 1:14 - Amy -- " -- 1:35 - Sonic's backloop 1:52 - Tails' air boost** 4:48 - Cream's Chao attack* 4:51 - Cream's air boost** 5:52 - Cream's Double-Jump*** And etc. * I think is pressing the B button ** These are same moves for every character i think *** Yet same too.

OH, use the R button combined with the directional pad for mid-air boosts, and characters' normal attacks are done with B.

Tails and Cream cannot double jump, but they can fly by pressing A repeatedly.

Sorry but having to find 7 special rings in one try in this game is a very tedious idea. You'd logically have to get a strategy guid to find them all without taking forever. 4/10

Only people with relatively bad memory for maps need the strategy guide. But Emerald collecting is indeed toughest in this game. It'd be a shame if you couldn't get them all since you got all of them in the other Sonic games.

Yeah, these are by far, THE hardest ways to get Chaos Emeralds. My only advice is to keep moving as fast as you can, and try to get rings in consecutive order. Because the rings will multiply if you don't stop picking up rings. Even if it's just a small amount of rings.

They're laid out more like a roller coaster, which allows for faster gameplay. Plus, they're alot bigger. But the Sonic Advance stages were set up more for exploration, like in Mario games.

Yeah I think they realised that from the original Genesis games and decided to make these more of a challenge. But I wont try for them. Complete it with all characters and get all chaos emeralds with every character you get Amy Rose who just isn't worth unlocking.
