  • NICE ONE!! THX for sharing this volleyball technique!! :))

  • Comment removed

  • Accidently hit someone hard on there nose doing a spike !

  • If ur right handed ur go right left really fast then and then left stomp then jump straight up then spike

  • @liudxdx he's wrong.. he's hitting goofy footed.. power hitters actually are supposed to hit off 4 steps.. most do off 3.. middles is always 3 steps.

  • i can neverrr get this !!!!!!!!! : (

  • I am a jr high volleyball player and when I spike. I just run and hit. This formation will really help because it's like a process. This was short and to the point.*like*

  • I WANNA TRY I WANNA TRY xD i know how to spike the ball without jumping and now IM GOING TO TRY TO JUMP FOR IT xD this helps me a lot :D I WANT TO PLAY WITH YOU TO SEE HOW I DO xD!!!!

  • Mmmhh. I tried today but didn't work guess I need more practice

  • 0:54 hahaha like super man

  • so many things wrong with this.... if your right handed your approach is LEFT RIGHT LEFT and if your left handed your approach is RIGHT LEFT RIGHT. when you spike it you put your left hand up not to have controll, that doesnt have a single thing to do with it, you put it up because if you leave your arm hanging down it drags your body down so you wont be able to jump as high. ugh stupid people! get someone who actually kknows how to play!

  • @kattygirl17 He seems like a good player. why are you so mean? why do not try to make a video and show the world how good you are as a player and teacher? 19 years old It explains a lot

  • @cesaramoga first of all im not saying hes a bad player maybe those techniques work for him but thats not the right way second how do you even know that im 19 i could be wayy older or younger, you dont know that. let me tell you something, Don't make assumptions by what you see, you should know that by now...

  • Comment removed

  • @kattygirl17 I am using these facts: you said "Stupid people get someone who actually know how to play" so you are infering that he is not a good player or he is indeed a bad player. Second, Your youtube profile channel says that you are 19. and your nickname is kattygirl 17 and it was created three years ago so by logic I can make the assumption you are 19! I am sure you could be a nice girl. you can express yourself on internet the way you want but I can also criticize the fact you were mean!

  • @cesaramoga Have a nice day!

  • @cesaramoga Okay idc if you think im mean or not and you can not assume by the fact that my username has 17 in it that i am 19 because 17 is my favorite number concluding that I might not be 19 so your facts on that subject are wrong. Also the stupid people I am adressing are the owners of the channel and by saying get someone who knows how to play I mean get someone who teaches the correct steps not saying he doesnt know which obviously he does cause all the other videos are decent so shut it

  • @kattygirl17 I am not going to shut it. you posted you are 19 on your channel and even if you are like 40 you seem like immature. I have played for 15 years volleyball. wow How terrible at teaching he is, he forgot to add left right left instead of left right and snap the wrist (sarcasm). You are complaining like if you paid for the service. you a phony little whinny brat complaining about everything. I blocked you and skip your annoying attitude.

  • @kattygirl17 well somehow you did not explain the fact your Youtube profile says you're 19 years old... so that's a fail right there...

  • @97codycommander 1. PEOPLE LIE, the internet isnt always right 2. stop sticking your nose in other peoples business 3. i am NOT 19, yes i lied. now shut the hell up and let it go, it was almost a month ago. You dont need to put your two sense in!

  • @kattygirl17 so yeah you lied.. That means you can also be younger, and which case your opinion would become even more irrelevant. Sure it happened a month ago, point? An open argument is still an argument

  • my fav part is the snake game :D

  • thanks!

  • hahaha my favorite part of volleyball is yellijng at the ref ..."what do you mean that was out are you blind"?

  • omggggoshhhh.

  • lol I came to the video to learn how to play volleyball and I ended up playing snake xD

  • "if you put all these steps together you can spike a volleyball and thats how you spike a volleyball " ?????????????? repetitive much

  • Right, Try adding another left before doign that right left..You want to build up momentum and speed. Then change all that speed into jumping power.

I hate how expertville always has shit videos..Get a person who actually knows how to volleybal..for christ sake

  • i did this and hit my opponent right in her face -_-

  • @GeGeMus12 You Make It Sound Like Its A Bad Thing =P You Should It Em Hard In The Face Thats The Entire Point Of Spiking...For Me =D

  • @GeGeMus12 Im so scared that'll happen to me >.<

  • @GeGeMus12 you make it seem like thats a bad thing

  • I really love this video cuz it teaches me how to play volleyball

  • lmao, I am i true volleyball player. I;ve never learned to play this game but I just do whatever he teachs out of common sense .

  • pause at 0:00

press left and down key buttons at the same time

and then you can play snake :)

thumbs up if it worked !

  • @anniecho921 hellz yea it did ,dude ur a genious.

  • @anniecho921 whats snake?

  • Comment removed

  • good video but when you teach the follow through you bring your arm down your right side, when in fact you should bring it across your body...you do it when you spike just not when your teaching, apart from that good video : )

  • its nice to see a volleyball video that is correcctly labeled

  • thnx, but i would like if you would tell me something bout when to jump, becuz i always jump weather too late or too early. Apart from that, I know what to do once im exactly where i need to to hit the ball :/

  • HEY MAN IT WORKED FOR ME THANK YOU VERY MUCH MANN

  • left-right-left is the right technique for right handed

  • im a setter, the shortest person on the team, but i love to attack. sometimes when a setter gives an AMAZING set high enough for an attack, some unexpirienced players would just shank it to the other side.. biggest. pet peeve. ever.

  • im left handed so is everything u said the opposite?

  • Well yea, that is how you spike a volleyball, but if you have the world's crappiest setter, you won't be able to get far. :) Good job :)

  • its look like some crazy kung fu

  • The Volleyball videos made by This Guy, Are The Only Expertvillage Videos That Are Actually Worth Watching -.-

  • Comment removed

  • i love spiking the volleyball... but im a setter and my coach gets mad at me when a hit the ball instead of setting it to the hitters

  • @cookieluver159 haha one of the setters of my team always does that.

  • @cookieluver159 haha ive played with many setters and its always the same story over and over again lmao

  • Pretty good video here. Few tips for those using this. Keep you left hand high like he shows you, but when you cock you right (hitting) arm back do not pull it straight back as shown, the shoulder is a ball-socket joint, so bring you right arm down then around circular. When you hit/snap on the ball get you right elbow high and come straight over the top.

  • ima outside and im right handed and my steps are left right left then put ur right foot next to ur left then jump then spike the ball wtf im confused wich is right wich is wrong o yea i think myian is right >.>

  • @knightbabe1 you are doing the same thing, but adding an extra step at the start, he goes right foot, left foot then puts his feet together, you go left, right, left then put your feet together, you end in the same place

  • its not that easy.. im an outside hitter and still havent mastered the art XD. but yeah, theres timing and stuff to go with it.

  • How do you know when's the right time to run and jump for the ball?

  • @ChocoPockyxD

when the set is at its peak.

  • @ChocoPockyxD It's really up to u knowin how high u can jump. Just practice enough times and it will almost become a reaction.

  • Elbow never goes first for the ball when u spike correctly

  • this good for the ones who dont really know how to play volleyball. But for those who already know how to play volleiball, you're missing a lot of important moves.

  • Timing also matters!

  • You forgot to say to clip or bend your wrist.

  • dont u have to snap your wrist?

  • WE ONE THE GRAND FINAL TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!! i scored the winning point for our team!!!!

  • Isnt it supposed to be 3 step approach?

  • spiking is a three step approach.

    fail.

  • @SamanthaHuffman there is more than one way to learn how to spike a volleyball you idiot. Not everybody learns well in three steps

  • @SamanthaHuffman in beach you use two

    indoor you use 3 :)

  • @minpadda24

indoor you can use 4 step too. middles do 3, most outsides and rightsides do 4 step.

  • Good tips. I'll give them a try.

  • .. for INDOOR your spiking you would take 3 or 4 steps. if your right handed you would take a long step with your left foot and short with your right then left. so its long short short. if your left handed you would do the opposite.

  • If you guys watch his spike closely... he doens't follow through all the steps as he teaches... good points but you need to do them yourself LOL

  • this is an outdoor approach, indoor approaches are 3-4 steps, no need for dumb comments

  • what you're teaching os wrong

  • i play volleyball, and we are taught if you are right handed, you go left right left. same for left handed except its right left right. i just tried it, and the way we are taught is much easier

  • @thalolybeth: I agree. But that's a technicality since Addison seems to have just replaced the first step with some sort of (get-to-the-right-starting-spot-jump).

  • This vid just proves once again that everybody has their own style of hitting.

  • thx men... :)

  • agh i dont get it... is spiking bumping?? lolz

  • i just go with the flow!

    i hit it...POP...BOOM!

    perfect spike

    =b

  • i have the same ball :D

  • only if you play in a gym (:

  • just jump from the back row with a 50 inch vertical and smash it (: jkkk

  • @tbuiii17

    AHAHHAHA

  • Do you really need to pull your arm back like a bow? Seems like you could skip that step completely

  • Yea you do actually.... We call it the superman because of the pose. you wind that arm back and then you hit the ball hard. Its really fast and quick. the winding of your arm helps build power.

  • @thaothi are you talking about the jumping or spiking motion? Seems like superman would pertain more to the jump than the spiking motion.

  • when you jump you start getting into superman and then for spiking the arm that is winded back you spike.

  • huh????? now i am confused!!!!

  • when i hit the ball with topspin it will have a "pop" sound which hurts my ear when i hit

  • the steps are wrong ... its one big step with your left foot on step right foot then a small on with the right and jump !

  • holy crap i gotlosed at 1:09

  • yeah thats what long guys do or that is what i do

  • if your right handed...you are supposed to start with your left foot. Hello? i play volleyball. i should know. Other than that....this is a pretty good explanation dude!

  • @esproductions0

He is taking a two step approach....so its right left.

If you are right-handed and hit with your right hand, you jump off your left foot, thus the right left.

you probably take a 3 step approach(as most do), left right left. Maybe in beach they only take 2 step approach?

but anyways you always end up on your left.

  • how about showing it instead of explaining it..

  • how high do you jump then?

  • Comment removed

  • its not as easy as it sounds when you have a block on you and you have to make decisions in the air in a matter of spilt seconds

  • ....dude. I use that method... but the problem is... that I am quite short compared to the net... XD

  • grow dummy!

  • -___-" easy for you to say... XD

  • jk, u know the jump training can do some great things. look up some exercises on here. if it hurts dont do it (bad pain) dont have to be tall if u can jump high.

  • dude i'm short too...but i jump higher than most people :D

  • if ur a middle its easier to do a two step approach when doing 1s. if your hitting a 2, then you can do 3 step

  • isnt it left right left approach

  • Thanks for posting!

  • Dude incase you didn't realise that this is beach and not indoor. 2 step approach is correct ok. I was taught the 2 step by Andrew Schact Who played in the olympics.

  • He didn't mention crucial things like hip turn, wrist snap. This 2 step approach works well in sand but anywhere else with sure footing you should take a 3 to 4 like ntvolleyball16 mentioned. As for 10 times the power I don't agree with that part but 3 to 4 will produce more power from forward momentum. 3 stars

  • if you wanna learn the real way to spike talk to me...2 step might get you bye in beach half the time, but you will be laughed at in indoor. 3 or even 4 step gives you ten times more power. 2 step? back to jv you go

  • That's not the way I learned how to spike a volleyball. How in the world does he have enough time to do that in a spike I will never know.

  • helped alot

  • i did not understand what he was saying i did get what he was saying!

  • I'll try that, but I may still look awkward as hell :P I'll try it though... whatever I can to make the team.

  • thank you so much!

  • He looks awkward as hell.

And he didn't mention wrist at all. Using only what he said, every shot till fly out, guaranteed.

  • i don't get it *-)?!?!

  • this is how you're supposed to spike xD

  • HIS HOTT AND HE SURE CAN SPIKE THE BALL MARRY ME LOL I learn something new today

  • must be a ugly cunt xD

  • WHAT THE HELL!!! LOL pathetic it was just an expression you can't even show an image of yourself you must be ugly lol your stupid what a born loser hahhahahahhahaaaa!!!! you think that hurts hell no your pathetic!!!!!!! HAHAHHAHHAAHHA!!!!!

  • okay what, i was taught the 3 and 4 step approach. the 3 is usually when you're a middle or when you are too close to the ball. a four is when you're the outside hitter and the first step is just to help you lean forward. 2 step approach is like when the ball is right above you but that shouldn't happen if you want a good spike.

  • i have always been tought 4 steps also!

  • Thanks

  • A genuine thanks!

  • ive always been taught 4 steps.

  • skispringer

  • ive been practicing this one but i cant still get it.. im 5'10 but the NET in our court is so high and its very hard to spike it downwards at the same time, im not in time jumping..

  • thats not an excuse man

im only 6 feet tall and i can get my head over the net

  • Why does everybody feel the need to tell the youtube community how good they are at sports?

  • I know. It's anoying.

  • @davidus3 this guy didn't tell us how good he was. What are you talking about?

  • @davidus3 becuase it the free voice of the world.

  • @davidus3 Because secretly they aren't. Haters can say anything on the internet, and most of the time they can't back up their statements.

  • @animehobo wow, you are gay

  • @greasemonkey2448 See. This is another thing about the internet I can't stand. I can't do crap to you now. I mean, what was the motivation to call me gay? Nothing. You called me gay only because we are miles away from each other never to meet face to face.

  • ok.. its just that i cant get it.. i tried to train with the volleyball players in our university and now, im still embarassed..

i know how to spike but its hard to spike near the net 210 to 220 degree..

hehe, excuse me in my grammar, not that good in english:D:D

  • Haa Yeahh iWas Taught Thee Left Right Left Thingyy Too Not Thiss. Hah

  • I was taught 3step. not two. Left, Right Left. The first two steps are big and get you to the ball and the third is to station you so you can use both legs for the jump to meet the ball. Thats how I was taught. I actually tried the two step at VB practice and is was just too confusing.

  • a lot of people explained the same approach in different ways to me. i find what works is a "3 step" but you take your lead step and then kinda hop out of the step and land on both feet then explode up. basically it's goes 1......2.3. a long stride, a hop then you come down on your toes and jump.

  • One thing he doesn't mention that I was taught was to snap your wrist when contacting the ball and follow through. This makes the ball go down faster and at a steeper angle making harder to dig up. And when he spikes it it looks like he snaps his wrist.

  • U should ask MIljkovic how to spike.:D

  • But I'm only 4 feet tall

  • thats the simple way but it works i did it as a beginner now i do the more complicated way

  • wow! that was a good spike :)

  • i need to learn dis stuff cause i hav volleyball practice at my shool and i need all the help i can get! :P

  • me 2 i been playing 6yrs and still i get confused not as much though

  • lol thats wat i thought!

  • hmm i dont do my approach like that at all. i take a three-step approach and i think my hand is mostly closed... never thought about it lol:) i dont flick my wrist, though.

  • ya me too cus isnt it: left, right, left??? cus thats how i was traught to play.

  • yupp thats the standard:)

  • lol yeah. don't forget to flick the wrist

  • well there is a 4 step, a 2 step, and a three step. I believe 4 step is for back attacks. 2 step is for when you just can't get there fast enough and you explode to the ball. I was always taught to do a 3 step approach.

  • I have a feeling the fact I can only just about 4 inches high will count against me on the volleyball tryouts.

  • lol i just spiked a volleyball today and i gotta say i wanted to play for the whole day

  • I dig.

  • also if youre really short like me, you have to learn to jump high because the net is high if youre playing in middle or high school.

  • damn

  • OMG I am wicked tall and i am expected to serve I gotta learn!

  • if i could only jump

  • your suppossed to flick your wrist as well while hitting downwards

  • you gotta flick ur wrist like a gay guy would do.

  • i hit with my right hand too so i used to start my aproach with my RIGHT foot but my coach taught us all to start with (left right left) :// but it works anyway and i got used to it :D

  • dido

  • its simple... right, left, right , jump, hit

  • thanks pal !

  • Your video was perfect. I'm an indoor player and been playing outdoors alot this year. The approach is so different outdoors with the 3 foot approach. I keep hitting it out and it's do to me not snapping from the top and hitting it more with my palms straight through. Thanks for the reminder tip.

  • this is the way that i learned how to do it and i've been playing for 6 years straught without stopping

    \

    \

  • I typically do a 3 step approach :D

  • just sayin but i personally worked with addison (guy in the video) and a 2 step aproach and a 4 step aproach get you the same amount of hight its all in the arms going from behind you to above your head when you jump, if you take a 4 step aproach your more likely to broad jump and go into the net or be to close and hit it when you follow through on your swing, if you have questions on something send me a message ill try to help

  • oh my gosh i hit the ball that step it was great it was strong but the bad part the ball came out side -_- hahaha

  • the steps for indoor volleyball is

    left right left.

  • yup exactly! THE BEST PART OF VOLLEYBALL!!! =P

  • wen u have your arm leading 4 the spike, its called the bow and arrow technique, also you should recoil your arm, otherwise for a cognitive or learner volleyballer they would hit the net

  • suprisingly it was helpful!

  • You're doing it wrong, you need to take a four step approach, because, with a 2 step, you wont have as much momentum, and you wont be able to jump high enough.

  • Four steps? I don't think so buddy...
