Hogan is as well loved in Canada as he is in the rest of the world, so what Vince said about U.S. wrestlers being heels in Canada and vice versa is a dumb thing to say.
Vince is lying. If Austin made him more more than anybody else he would've been world champion longer than any wrestler in history. And don't give me that stuff about Austin not being able to perform. Hogan performed when he was no longer able to perform at the top of his game and he still won world titles. Hogan made Vince more money because he was champion a lot longer. Something else to remember is that the dollar was worth more in Hogan's time as WWE champion and Vince knows that.
@TheBC313 I know because I'm using common sense. Had Austin made Vince more money his ego wouldn't have allowed him to turn down a longer title reign. A longer title reign equals more money. It just didn't happen. I don't doubt Austin was Vince's second biggest money maker, just not the biggest. Vince's motivation for his claim is obvious. He wanted to convince the public that his federation didn't need Hogan to continue to be successful.
@donn409 It's documented fact that Austin's WWE merchandise made the company more money than any other superstar's.And I think you fail to realise that Vince wanted Austin to stay bad, as he says in this interview.he offered him a huge contract but Steve turned it down.
Austin was a champion a hell of a lot during his career, and even when he wasn't champion he was practically always involved with the title storyline. Also whose to say Steve's neck injuries arent worse than Hogans leg injuries.
@theMull90@theMull90 Documented my ass! The myth that Austin made Vince more money was proliferated by McMahon to convince the public that he didn't need Hogan. Had Vince offered Austin the type of contract you claim he did Austin's ego wouldn't allow him to turn it down. He's a rotten person in real life as well as in the ring. Austin wanted to show up Hogan badly and he would not turn down a chance like that injury or no injury.
@donn409 Austin was so beat up, injured and worn out by the end of his career that the night before his last match at WM he was rushed to hospital, almost having a heart attack...Austin was smart, he knew his time was up and he was too beat up to continue on in this business so he called it quits..he made millions and millions during his career and I respect him more for being able to recognise he was done instead of pushing his body too hard and ending up dead in his house ala so many others
@theMull90 Hogan was just as beat up and injured as Austin but he continued on. Yes, his mobility was limited but at times he could show some of the magic that made him successful in his heyday. Flair is also in that elite group. He came back from a broken back after doctors told him he would never wrestle again.
@theMull90 Austin's neck injuries while serious still aren't as bad as Hogan's leg and back injuries. There are a lot of myths and lies going on in the wrestling community about Hogan. You don't have to like him but you gotta respect him.
I definitely respect Hogan, as I do pretty much all the guys who compete at that level..What they go through is amazing and while I wish I could do it, I know my body is not nearly tough enough for it
@theMull90 When I was a kid I wanted to be either a singer or a wrestler. Both professions call for a lot of traveling. You're on the road for weeks and sometimes months or years. I realize how tough those people have it and I don't think I could do what they do. Although there are certain singers and wrestlers I don't like I have to respect them for being able to do what they do.

@blahmehblah1 Yeah agreed, it seems like every 5 Years Vince ages 10 years, and im not joking,The Stress of the Buisness Really Takes a Toll on him, Don't get me wrong he looks good here, But he looked ALOT younger in 98, not just 6 years younger,, he looked more like a decade younger,,and now let's fastforward to 2012,,,,he looks TERRIBLE...yes,,,Terrible,
If I believed in satan...I would swear that Vince was satan. He has this evil look in his eyes even when hes nice that nobody else seems to have. And I love it.
It's a good job Michael Landsberg got an interview with the on-screen, polite Vince McMahon. If he sat down to interview the real Vince McMahon and started acting like a confrontational douchebag, real Vince would rip him apart.
It's funny how Lansberg over the years got to talk to Mcmahon for hours and one of the biggest topics never gets brought up, Vince's supposed beef with Macho Man, i don't think it's coincidence.
Landsberg's obsession with Canada is fucking embarassing. I am English and if one of our interviewers kept badgering an American guest about being English or English Wrestlers over and over it just looks pathetic. If Canada wants to be seen as separate from America then why do they constantly compare themselves and bring it back to this issue
i bet vince wanted to woop the sh*t out of this guy! if you were interviewed by this guy thumbs up if you would kick this guys a** after the interview
vince never should have bought wcw if he wishes it were still around he should have left it alone focus on his company alone and everything would have been perfect
It was better for the WWE to acquire all of the copyrights and talent IPs than to just let them remain the property of Time Warner and serve no purpose.
I think what pisses me off so much about this prick Landsberg is that he projects an unreasonable feeling that because it's fairly well known that Vince is a rather unpleasant, slimy, underhanded BUSINESSMAN (Most successful ones are) that he must therefore be wholly incapable of having any kind of feelings in general. It's so fucking judgmental to think that of someone else. MSJ = Business decision. Is the show still running? If so has he had Bret on after he returned to RAW?
I've watched a fair few of these interviews now and while the subjects this prick Michael Landsberg interviews are interesting, the guy himself is a complete and utter tool. Someone should tell him that smart mouthing someone because they appear far more intelligent than him only makes him look more of a prick than before - everything Vince had to say about why Christian was billed from Toronto and the other Canadian wrestlers are billed as residing from somewhere in America makes perfect sense
Landsberg confrontational style of journalism would work better if he didn't call his guests out on every trivial little detail. I mean who really cares where somebody is billed from?
It's funny how the talk about wrestling taking it's toll on your body - and some years later most of the guys mentioned aren't wrestling anymore for various reasons - Guerrero, Benoit, Edge, Angle.
