I'm not saying Cannabis is completely benign or for children (unless authorized by a doctor) but if it wasn't a relatively safe and effective medication do you think The American College of Physicians, 124,000 strong, would release a position paper endorsing medical marijuana in Feb 08.

Nobody is trying to legalize it...2/3 of Americans will continue to smoke it whether it's legal or not. Arresting sick people who need it is wrong and our government supports it. Marijuana is illegal but OXYCONTIN isn't? Anyone who has done drugs before can tell you that the pharm-synthetic drugs are scary compared to marijuana. You can overdose on em, become addicted, damage organs, and throw off your body chemistry horribly...not to mention that marijuana isn't ridiculously expensive.

Kudos to John McCain. He's right. The medical marijuana lobby is simply trying to get it legalized for general use. Shame on potheads for using sick people as pawns in their cynical attmpt to change drug policies.

They are trying to get the news through the thick skulls of the anti-cannabis that it does infact have medicinal benefits which would remove it from schedule I status. I will not go on because anything I say would just fly right over your head anyway.
