To be honest

be very careful with used psx-versions of Valkyrie Profile. Just a small cut on the cd-surface may make the game unplayable. Its extremely sensitve.

I think the first game is better. There is more emphasis on the individual characters (there are no archetyp-characters) but to get the really cool ending you really need to use a walkthrough. Its hard to get it by chance. The Finishing Strikes are cooler as well (at least in my opinion) ; )

Just get the PSP version, it's "cheaper". Though, I was one of the lucky ones who actually got an original copy of VP1 for psx when it came out ^_^

lenneth's soul crush is still better than silmeria's, coz it still has an explosion at the end! whew, just like in vp1 when she's equipped w/ razor shaft or angel slayer!

oh, and arngrim's voice sounds cooler and tougher! woooo!

wow rofl i bought this game today cuz the final fantasy game i wanted wasnt there. and i go to check out some things about this game and it looks so much like what final fantasy 12 was like this game is perfect ! just what i wanted. I sugest u guys buy this game, and after u beat it, buy final fantasy 12 i bought it for 60$ but its going for 20 now without the metal box so u have to get both! they are very similar and have sick specials.

The 5 things on the right side of the screen are the magic crystals that you get. u can activate Special Attack when your special attack gauge below your number of hits (the blue one) has reach 100, just like DarkMarluxia said! ^^

my team valkyrie,brahms,arngrim and freya(used all items from einherjar free soul in her.she could do round 160000 to 200000dmg)another team would be valkyrie,dylan,arngrim and freya dont use sorcerers cause they dont do a shit of damage and u dont need to heal cause of first aid+metabolizer*lifeforce blessing.for determined dirna replace valkyrie with lenneth with code break attack to beat demi-shadows

to beat ethereal just place rust law chasm wrath and sheated power law and take with you yggdrasil blessing lifeforce blessing paper tiger blessing and if u have it secluded valley law.then equip each of your characters with first aid skill and metabolizer accesory and there you have it!you can easily clear seraphic gate 10 times

yeah, i have them all(freya/alicia/arngrim)at max level with the strongest weapons.. still not enough to beat the ethereal queen though.. haha. >.< i will post a video of my attempt once i make one.

Ethereal Queen is pretty tricky, as she can block most of her attacks, so you'll have to break her guard.

Good luck in fighting her though. I'm on my third run of the Seraphic Gate and the Ethereal Queen on my second run was somewhat struggling.
