Something to add: the end play between the gear and the washer should be 0.010-0.020, or it will effect the timing as the shaft moves up and down. I just rebuilt one with 0.060 end play! Mr Gasket makes a kit with a few different shim sizes, part # 2820
Would a bad "pick up coil" cause a car not to start. I've got a 91 Camaro 3.1 liter v6, and I've replaced lots of things with the ignition. I'm thinking it's something with the distributor. It would be nice just to be able to get a new one of those and get my car running again.
