I own a Dell Dimension 4600. My friend gave it to me for free as it wouldn't boot up anymore. I got it up and running again after installing a few new parts, namely a new PSU as well as a RAM and CPU upgrade along with a lean install of XP Pro without the Dell bloat.
Runs fine now and I use it along with my Mac, though it is obsolete and I may upgrade when Windows 7 debuts (I detest Vista).
Can I please...please take a swing at that computer too....i hate DELL!!! Just finished speaking to an Indian Manager who said (and I quote) "I know your computer is not working...but we can't fix it, even if IT IS WITHIN WARRANTY AND THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF PURCHASE, i guess you bought a bad product" ... stupid idiot !!!!
